My 5yo son has started asking questions about female anatomy. We (my ex and I divorced 1 year) have already been teaching him about his body anatomy and body autonomy. He's now asking about female anatomy, asking details and for pictures, which I'm also OK with providing. However, my ex wants to also teach him about gender. She's extremely progressive, and turned into a radical feminist (i.e. white males are the cause of all the worlds problems) when Trump was elected. I'm centrist and whatever gender people want to be is fine with me as long as it doesn't affect me. I'm just having a hard time wrapping my head around the need to teach a 5yo child about gender and how a boy can have a vulva or a girl can have a penis. She's adamant about it, and isn't interested in looking at it from a simple biological point of view. FFS, he still thinks Santa is real and she wants to teach him that he can be a girl if he wants. Any other single dads been in this position and if so how did you handle it?
