13 Years and 4 children. I had a religous faith crisis and she discarded me. It all happened very quickly. Then she had the audacity to gaslight me by telling me she stopped loving me 2 years ago, saying I was like a friend with benefits. The last straw was her blowing up on me when I brought up examples of her codependency in our relationship after I brought up examples of me. I tried to leave to deescalate but she followed me and she started to come after me intending imulsively to attack me physically. I said that's enough, we're done. I am divorcing you, is what I said. Hours later, I said let's do the trial separation we were talking about. That didn't even last a day and I had to file a protective order on her.

A few weeks later, I am openign my eyes and realizing I WAS THE ONLY codependent, she is a maladaptive covert narcissist or has borderline personality disorder.

My 25th anniversary is June 1st. My dissolution is June 22, following 13 months of physical separation and 7 years of being a roommate.

Just say you're single. Divorce was an event, it's not a marital status. I select Single on any form that asks for marital status. My divorce is non of anybody's business.

I usually just say "7 years until she cheated" and then "I'm happier now".

" it is what it is" is exactly what I said.

During 2020 at my job place we had 3 including me get divorced. One guy is getting taken to the cleaners. One guy i dont know. Im getting the best deal of the three.

I usually laugh it off and say “don’t be sorry! It’s for the best. Marriage is awhile, but divorce is forever!”
