Posted here before. Long story short: She relocated to California (despite my objections) while I was away at my travel intense job, left the kids with my mother-in-law until they finish school, and thinks she's going to come back later this month to relocate them to California.

Anyway, I spoke to my lawyer and filed today. The wife made the mistake of posting her new work address on social media, so she'll be served this coming Monday.

I passed along copies of some recordings I made of her saying some stupid stuff—threatening to make false police reports against me, amongst others. My lawyer tells me they're pretty damning. (I live in a one party consent state, so it's all admissible as evidence.) If she doesn't agree to either: 1. Give me custody of the children during the school year in return for them staying with her during the summer months. 2. Return home and agree to 50/50 custody.

Then we're going to trial where the audio recordings will be used against her. Aside from finding a local job, which I'm working on, just about everything is set up in my favor. It's too soon to say for sure, but planning ahead and striking preemptively might keep me from being completely raped in the coming divorce.
