Would normally pass this off as innocent humour but since it came from THAT sub than I wouldn't be surprised if they weren't being sarcastic about it.

There's a strong double standard surrounding this particular "innocent humor" though. Go ahead and innocently joke about violence toward women, and watch how fast your post gets removed and how fast your account gets banned from the sub and from all of reddit.
