At the heart of it, people like different things. What I view as "high value" might not be the same as you.

Pretending 'high value' is some some universal measuring stick is pretty sad cope. It comes from people finding attributes they hope others view as 'high status' and they double down on insisting it means the same to everyone when really, they're still striking out and just looking for other ways to feel good about themselves.

The way that trp and its offshoots use the terms (as you say, a measuring stick of sorts) is just so…. Ughh! Like for women its all about “hotness rating” and “no one cares about her education, job, etc” and for men, its “all about money…. Except for the guys who are super muscular, super tall, super aggressive, super whatever attribute the guy reading/listening is not feeling in himself that day….

Yet real world experience proves this wrong, I’ve had numerous male buddies who talked up the attributes other than “hotness” in the girls they admired. One was dating a medical student and liked her intellect. One was dating a lady who was super successful in sales, he liked her earning potential (hey since the women supposedly ALL are about that…)

Its sad really… I actually had someone shout “you’re not as high value as you think you are” at me after binging on trp content. Prior to the binging it was “you have this and that quality and that makes me more attracted to you than some ex of mine some people say was better looking” (they were to be honest if only looking at the surface)

The trp stuff tells guys all these “rules” about which women they should or shouldn’t value also. Buy into that crap too much and sooner or later every great human being will eventually fail to meet some criteria that was not worried about before allowing some unqualified dude to run ones life.

Idk people just value yourself, try to do good each day, try to stay healthy and find someone who appreciates you and thats all you need I think.

yes, extremely tired of it. and extremely sad to see that language bleed into so many places outside of just trp (constantly see references to high and low value men & women on twitter and tiktok, for example.) we all have different qualities that hold value to us, and no person should be considered "low value" because they don't meet some arbitrary superficial standards. it's gross to try to reduce the depth and complexity of humanity to one neat little rating system.

Of course you are tired of it. But in fact there is a dating market value.

A broke guy will be seen as low value. An overweight women will be seen as low value. A short guy will have low value. An older women will have lower value. Disabled people have lower value.

I dont think this is good or anything, I think every person is valuable. But the "high value man/woman shit" is applying on the dating market, where your value will determine your prospects in your love life.

High value depends on how much you fit in in the gender roles.

I think there are some highly measurable, quantifiable, and socially agreed upon verifiers for a high value individual, and that these verifiers have been embedded into our DNA since the beginning of time across nearly all cultures and societies. To be “tired of it” doesn’t make it not true or irrelevant.

Whether fair or not, or whether you agree with it or not, humans and societies since the beginning of time thrive collectively when they are useful to others - their family, friends, tribe, community, company, self, etc. If you live in the world and are a member of it but don’t seek to be of any value to anyone in it or contribute your best self to society, isn’t that… detestable?

The traits associated with being a high-quality man for example include such things as being a good communicator, being resilient, having purpose, and so on. Why would these be things that are considered not valuable to others? What if everyone in the world did not have these kind of traits just because they grew tired of being told it’s god to have them? Are we saying we would be perfectly fine if everyone just was a horrible communicator at all levels of society? Setting a standard and defining what it means to be of high value helps raise others up and ultimately benefits the greater good.

I don’t think anyone should try to make themself void of any accountability or responsibility to be of high value to their fellow man and community. Being the best person they can be for the benefit and sake of others is not only noble and admirable but needed. So to downplay high-value ways of being as something irrelevant and subjective because one is tired of it, I think, is just a copout and an excuse to be self-centered and a leeching consumer off of society and not a contributor.
