Generally there is no crisis. It’s really just a wishful thinking of bitter men, and they confirm those biases with any older women who even take about how different her life is now than before. Even if those women were not having a crisis or complaining, men with such idea of women like to project their beliefs on to those women.

That being said, some women can have a crisis and so can some men but these people are often very used to relying on their physical attractiveness to get what they want. However, even in those cases most just work hard to retain their attractiveness as much as possible.

Attention? Like catcalling and the unwanted sexual harassment? The only attention we desire is from our significant other. We do not freak out over old age. Actually most women are more confident as they age. During our 20’s we were more naive and some of us bought the shitty ideas patriarchy sold us. It’s the same reason most predators go for younger women( more easily controlled/abused as they are still very naive).

No this isn’t a thing in the red pill sense of the word. Lots of people experience the “oh fuck I’m old” thing. Someone younger than you says something and you don’t know what they’re referring to and you think “wow I must be getting old”. But it’s not specific to women by any means and isn’t limited to simply physical appearance either.

No, because women are still hot and desired into their 40’s and so many younger men love older women. I was still getting hit on by men in their early 20’s in my early 40’s. The confidence women have in their 30’s and 40’s makes for a very different experience and better overall happiness. Also, women are in relationships and focused on careers and their children. We don’t put our value on having a perfect appearance, in fact most of us never had that anyway. For that small group of sad women whose self esteem is completely based on their looks, they can always find older men for whom they are still a prize. Think of all of the women actors who are over 40 and still considered "hot." Generally speaking, women are just happier as they get older. I have no desire to be 22 again.

Are women often disappointed by the recognition that they are aging? Sure. But you have to remember that aging doesn’t happen in one day or even one year. It’s gradual, and any reduction in attention or whatever is likewise gradual. Most people are not super thrilled about getting older and their bodies falling apart, and many take steps to slow the process as much as is practicable, but what’s the alternative? The idea that not being 22 anymore makes women mentally ill is just silly.

When I was young and ‘hot’, the only thing different in my life was that more men wanted to fuck and dump me.

I’m 45 now and am told on a regular basis that I look like I’m in my 30s. I get hit on more by men my sons age than my own age. I don’t get noticed or harassed by strange men when I try to walk through the mall the way I did when I was young and hot thought. I’m hit on by men who actually KNOW something about me, not just strange men who see a hole that looks appealing. But who the fuck cares?

Many women find that they like the anonymity that being older or not considered ‘hot’ by strange men brings. With age comes the realization that dealing with men on a romantic level is more trouble than it’s worth anyway, so why would we care whether or not we attract their attention?

It’s beyond bizarre that there are people out there who genuinely think that the apex of a woman’s life is being considered fuckable by strange men. Again I ask, who cares? Do men convince themselves of this because it makes them feel like they are special or something? I mean I hate to bust a dudes bubble but the majority of women literally could not give a fuck. We have lives to live.

I've always gotten some attention but now that I have the resources to look closer to what I would ideally want to I carry myself more confidently and notice more eyes on me than before. I'm more likely to be wishing I had no timeline on having another kid or trying to enjoy certain aspects of aging. Any narrative that claims that women suddenly go insane at a certain age due to a subjective thing like beauty is suspect at best.

I've always found older women to be more attractive anyway, I did when I was younger. The truth is that insecure men are intimidated by older women because they think they will be easier to manipulate than the supposedly naive younger women. To try to combat this the men launch a psychological attack on the women by which they try to convince women that their life experience counts for nothing because each day their value decreases, like a consumable product with an expiry date, rather than a human being.

I mean, there may be some men who only find young women attractive - I would say such men are profoundly CREEPY and are best avoided by women of any age.

In my experience no. To be more nuanced, I'm sure there are some women, and men, that base their personality only on being pretty/handsome, and that kind of person will probably have some kind of existential crisis when they lose their main source of pride. But I really don't think it's a "woman thing"...more of a "vain person thing"

The idea of a mid-life crisis has been around for decades now.

I don’t think it’s specifically a woman thing, lol. I think it’s more about people riding life like they do in their younger years suddenly coming to some realizations that they won’t live forever, and they’re ultimately responsible for how they want their lives to be.

A woman may realize she doesn’t want to only experience causal relationships, and decide she wants to at least know what being a parent like — midlife crisis.

A woman who was a young parent, realizing she wants to see more of the world? Midlife crisis!

A guy who wastes half his life at a shitty job recognizing it won’t get him wealth? Midlife crisis!

You can make any amount of scenarios and examples. The truth is, a lot of people don’t really plan out their lives, and just assume things will work out due to “destiny,” so when they recognize that they might not achieve all they wanted just cruising along — it’s a real shock.

Another thing to consider is most people. The averages that red pill always likes to talk about — don’t always practice critical thinking.

So I think it’s very possible for lots of people to have issues and concerns while also understanding that just because a lot of people stumble doesn’t mean all people do.

Women can hit a wall where they don’t get attention as much as they used to. It guys can hit a wall too when it comes to career advancement. Everyone hits their own walls. It’s how we tackle them that really matters.

Women call this becoming “invisible,” and in some ways it’s scary while in other ways it’s welcome. It’s scary because it shows you how all along you were just being used and now you’re being discarded. But the upside of being discarded is less street harassment, less cat calling, less overall hassle. But the icy lack of friendliness or even acknowledgement that was once there leaves many older women isolated in ways older men more rarely are. It all depends on your view of it.

I think age is unkind to the body and society is unkind to old age in general. But I think it’s worthwhile to live until your life isn’t a resource someone’s trying to pull from.

The billions of dollars spent on anti aging creams, surgery etc says yes. Listen, Im an actual women, so believe me when I say that we are inundated with messages of various kinds a thousand times a day every day of our goddamn lives that our worth depends on our beauty. Even if you are aware of this process happening, it's tough to not be affected. So, it's not like a crisis exactly... just an ever increasing sense of dread, a lowering of one's self esteem, a constant awful pressure to try to look younger, and birthdays that now kind of make you sad.

Now of course everyone is different. Some of us are too goddamn busy raising kids to think or worry about this much. But it pops it's head up in our consciousness randomly. Mostly we just dont think about it because we havent even managed to shower in a few days and someone just spilled cereal on the floor we mopped this morning.

And then eventually some of us come to terms with it, and become successful in not giving a fuck, especially when it becomes clear that short of celebrity grade plastic surgery nothing is going to make a difference so fuck it.

But this conscious and subliminal indoctrination where our value is tied to our youth and beauty... well that fucking sucks, and yeah, its real.

I'd suspect some undoubtedly will. But women aren't a uniform group, so it's definitely not all of them.

Any person that reflects on life will necessarily notice that getting older is part of the deal. And as you get older life and health becomes less forgiving in a number ways.

Contrast this with someone leveraging youthful looks on the daily without investing appropriate effort into upkeep and longterm strategies, they absolutely will have a rude awakening.

I think some wealthier women who have money will try to stave off the signs of aging with plastic surgery. I havent met these women but i know they exist. My own family seems to deal with aging like any normal person.

I myself enjoy it to some extent. I'll apply lotion to take care of myself but I'm closing in on 30 and its a relaxing experience. I'll stay pretty in my soul.

To answer your question, I'd say the vast majority have no crisis with beauty.

Yes and No, as another poster had said. Woman are pressured from an early age about getting married and having kids is something that she has to do. If that’s something she desire then yes it can effect her because we know that men value attractiveness in a woman so if she is getting older then she may panic because she has a limited to to have healthy children. That said do all women panic, some do and some don’t. Good news is as she does get older she becomes more confident in herself and knows that finding the right partner at the right time is more important than rushing into a relationship.

Some women do, and some don't. My theory based on my own experience is that it correlates to the importance of beauty in the eyes of the individual woman.

There was a period where I really believed that the only thing I had to offer men was my body. Beauty seemed to be men's #1 requirement - if you were beautiful, then intelligence and talent were a plus, but if you weren't, all the talent and brains in the world wouldn't make up for it. And when I began to see signs of aging, I panicked because I was afraid to lose the only trait that made me worth anything. (It's worth mentioning that I didn't place much value on a man's attractiveness, just my own.)

I can't pinpoint when it happened, but I slowly began to realize that some men don't place that emphasis on looks in their partners, just as some women don't. And when I discovered that my other qualities had value, I was no longer as afraid to let myself age.

TL;DR: Sometimes. Probably depends on how much value that particular woman places on her looks.

I’m 33 and I can confidently say I feel much better and more stable now than I did in my 20’s. The whole, “youth is wasted on the young” is very true, many young women struggle with insecurities and trying to find what they want in life. It is a confusing age for both genders.

In terms of “the wall,” I could easily find someone else if something happened to my marriage. I don’t consider myself less attractive and in some ways I am more attractive than I was at 20–more fit, better makeup/hair skills, better style, more confident in general. I still get hit on pretty frequently but that has never been my gauge for how well my life is going. It can be annoying unless it is a genuinely nice person that isn’t overtly gross and sexual. I had a very young, sweet kid ask me to go to a concert with him and I got a good chuckle out of that.

I am not overly concerned with aging because it is a privilege to grow older. I take care of my body/skin and so I am settled with aging gracefully.

Heyo, 40-year old woman here. It is weird aging. People do treat you differently. For 20+ years, you inhabited a very specific niche in the world, and now, you don't. That takes some getting used to! It's also hard because society's narrative says that a woman is at her absolute most successful when she is young and beautiful (which is ludicrous), so even if that's not how you define your own success, it can wear on you that other people define your success like that, so now they see you as less successful (even though you're more knowledgeable and accomplished).

But if there's ever a moment I start feeling weird or bad about getting older, I remind myself that, as an introvert, I really hated all that attention. I wasn't interested in 98% of the men who paid sexual attention to me, but I also felt very bad turning them down - I didn't want to hurt their feelings. Since rejecting people didn't come easily to me, I got myself in some painfully awkward situations.

Also, now people take me more seriously, and now, I can be friendly to EVERYONE without worrying that someone will take it as sexual interest and get aggressive with me.

Overall, I'm much happier with how the world responds to me now. I know it's not like that for every woman, but I've been pleasantly surprised by how my life has changed.

As a former bartender at a nightclub I can tell you that they don't have a crisis until far after it's too late.

I would see women in their 40's and 50's who were probably show-stoppers in their youth but not anymore, but they still act like they can have any man in the bar (If that's how it's always been, why would it be any different)

But what women don't understand is that sure, a guy will pretty much bang anything, but the woman he will actually date and call and fall for is far different.

My good friend K has hit this epiphany, all she does is continue to chase these 3 guys she hooks up with but won't commit to. I told her that she's never gonna break them down and to find someone who actually wants to date her.

So to answer your question, I think the crisis comes when it's far too late to fix anything. They get blown off date after date and they just don't know what is going on. Some women never realize they blew all their chances and it's heartbreaking to see.

My grandma is 76 and has such an amazing complexion because her bone structure is keeping the rest of her skin in place.
My mother, 51, is losing a lot of weight and this is making her rejuvenate instead.

I'm sure neither of them are having a crisis.
