Say male perspective? Dudes be listening to too much Kevin Samuels. Who tf even knows dress sizes? Doesn’t even know what she looks like but knows she needs to lose weight to attract a (perceived high value) man

No wonder so many women are insecure, and who knows what the fuck this guy looks like

She didn't send a picture so he was giving the best advice based on the info. Most women with that BMI don't meet the "conventially attractive" standard. And the rest of the his comment was cut off, where he talked about average men in comparison.

This is fair thanks for a little more context. Don’t agree, but the context is important

Typo in the title: ****man telling a woman

Why didnt you post the entire comment?

I’m sorry, I just realized that was really dumb of me. I’m not sure why I didn’t, but I swear it wasn’t with bad intent.

I mean… she’s right?

Maybe this isn’t the advice OP was looking for but when we are looking at the strict idea of the male gaze, the commenter is absolutely right, unfortunately.

I’m a sex worker. I’ve definitely been in the ups and downs of BMIs but at a BMI of 23 I’d be at the “chubby” chasers list of customers.

It’s the same with age, unfortunately.

I’m not saying it’s right, but I’d say this is an accurate analysis of the strict patriarchal male gaze.

Men like women who are in shape? Who would have thought.

Being at a low BMI doesn’t merit fitness tho.

I’m at a very low BMI and customers comment about how fit I am all the time. I’m extremely unhealthy at the moment and the weight loss is due to a chronic health condition.

Funny how men being at a BMI of 18.5 is never equated with fitness.

It's a strange phenomenon, men freaking out over any sort of weight gain a woman has. It's so odd, only men seem to have this issue. Alot of the time the weight gain isn't drastic and often does not significantly change the women's appearance. I can see if a woman was 5'7 , 120 pounds, and she shot up to 190. But these men often talk about 20 or 30 pounds gained like it's gonna make the average woman morbidly obese or something.

It is a strange phenomenon. A lot of people tend to over look the biological need for women to hold on to weight to sustain healthy pregnancy.

Biologically we retain weight and find it more difficult to lose fat because we are fighting an uphill battle of thousands of years of evolution.

Hence why women who reach the ‘male desired’ weight often stop getting their period as carrying a baby to term is unlikely.

So women drive themselves insane trying to lose those ‘extra pounds’ because their body is literally fighting them on this. All their cravings for food are designed to ensure we in our prime to reproduce etc.

30 pounds is the weight of $1197.87 worth of Premium Glass Nail Files...

[–]Jgamesworth 1 point2 points  (6 children) | Copy Link

Can you curl 30 pounds? Or deadlift 30 pounds or even squat 30 pounds. 30 pounds is not heavy.

30 pounds of vegan poop being burned provides 225496.91 BTU.

Why does any of this matter.

I’m a guy, and when I was 150 pounds at 5’7” I felt heavier than I wanted to be.

5’2 at what 130? I’m guessing it would show, but I don’t know women’s weight comparatively to a guy.

I do have to say, she legit asked for opinions on her weight, and the woman was polite about it.

I think anyone could be lighter, but no one should be internalizing advice on the internet or losing sleep over it.

[–]useles-converter-bot -1 points0 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

150 pounds is the weight of literally 227.49 'Velener Mini Potted Plastic Fake Green Plants'.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
