I used to be heavily involved in PUA. The adrenaline rush was the most exciting part of approaching and chatting up with women. I lived in a touristy town, and it was great, although I was a 22-year-old student at that time, so I had almost no results (phone numbers and chatting on social media were my only results). Girls are more comfortable chatting with strangers when they are on vacation, especially if you're a local.

It was fun but also time-consuming and tiresome. PUA is a thing of a past now with masks and social distancing, so I don't really regret doing it.

None of that stuff really works, at least not the way they sell it. And it damn sure doesn't work for actually having functional relationships.

You can find meanin in any type of labour.

The original pickup artists were nerds who are used to hyper focusing on something.

They hyper focused on socialization to figure out a basic frame work of interaction.

When you are nervous it's easier to execute if you have a plan.

And then it is plan with contingencies for ever possible outcome.

You want to start a conversation

Draw attention to something happening nearby.
Ask a question as of trying to settle a debate etc

Let the conversation flow noting light rejections that come along and react to it in a way that shows you don't give a fuck. These are memorized like patterns.

And finally a way to change location. "My friend works at a bar.." , "I know a club we're a really cool indie band is playing,...." , "well I am done for the night, gonna head back and make some pad Thai for myself.... you guys could join if you are still hungry"

And primarily they recognize that these unsocial geeks need to socialize so they force themselves into it. Ask out a 100 girls and get rejected a 100 times until the rejection doesn't matter.

I actually respect it....

It turns the empheral and loosely defined state of play in dating into something that is more concrete like grinding exp in an mmo RPG .

It created a framework by which a nerd can get better at socializing in a way that even they can understand.

And once the results come in, it provides the dopamine rush to keep going.

Many people get an ego boost from having sex with conventionally attractive women. That sense of validation of feeling attractive and wanted can be intoxicating. I think many people get caught continually chasing that high.

There is also the recognition from other people that comes from having sex with conventionally attractive women. It's like having multiple avenues of an external validation IV drip. Mix in the chemicals that are released from sex as well as orgasms. You can create a self sustaining cocktail of never ending lust.

Sexual intercourse is extremely important to the continuation of any mammalian species. So the mental and physical rewards you receive for participating in this act need to be equally powerful.

The need to reproduce is the primary drive of humanity .. What bugs me out is ill see these touching videos of people in war torn areas teaching their young children to think of the bombing sounds as fireworks and celebrate. I'm like why did you fuck... and make babies? You do know they'll grow up... there.... where bombings are so common you have to adapt to them.

I saw another video documentary about people in some impoverished country, where they literally made dirt pies and ate them. There was a scene where they gave them out to their super skinny kids... I was like how the hell are you fucking and making babies when you literally eat dirt as a snack? No one said let's not, until we can get some food around here?
