What do you guys think about Red Pillers or guys in general who say that women are and should be submissive?

There is nothing inherently wrong with being submissive if it is how someone actually is/how they want to be. The issue is not some people being or choosing to be submissive to their partners.

The issue is the 'should'. No one 'should' be anything other than a decent human being, telling a whole group of people they 'should' behave in a certain way, especially a way that doesn't align with who they really are, is just a recipe for disaster and unhappiness.

We see it in lots of areas - society says men 'should' be stoic, and then men struggle with expressing emotion and that has a whole host of issues. If we remove the 'should' then it opens up the possibility for people to be who they are, instead of trying to fit themselves into roles that ultimately harm them. Same is true for women and being submissive. And a whole host of other expectations placed on gender that often just make it more difficult for people to be themselves.

it depends, there's a difference with respecting your partner/husband and being a doormat servant to him. If women are feeling forced to be a doormat servant to her lazy partner who doesn't cook or clean the house and be a servant then it's wrong. Nobody should have power in a relationship.

All women aren't submissive. Some are. But men who say women should be submissive or seek out submissive women seem weak to me. It's seems like wanting to be the MVP on a weak team vs being an equal contributor on a decent team where everyone is more or less equally talented, or talented in different ways.

Like they can't handle a woman who speaks her mind, makes her needs known and won't be walked over, or has her own income, education, and social life, because it threatens them. It's kind of childish and pathetic to require no challenges in one area of your life.

I also think "submissive" is a dumb criterion to base a relationship on. There are so many more important qualities in a partner that eliminating non-submissive women is shooting yourself in the foot by eliminating people you might be more compatible with.

As someone who is attracted to men, I think kindness, gentleness, and willingness to compromise are important in a partner, but I think that's very different than submission. I need a strong partner bc I want a strong partnership. I'm a strong partner bc we're going to have the best life and relationship possible, and I'm not a slacker.

It's sexist bullshit. Some people CHOOSE to be submissive in certain circumstances, and that is fine, but "should be"? Fuck off with that nonsense. People should be whatever their best self is, and in a two person relationship, that usually means both partners stepping up in various ways and making decisions together.

Anything that deals with submission is dealing with the need for power.

It says more about the men who like that kind of things and want to impose it, and what they lack in their own life, than any women.

Its one of those crabs in a bucket mentality. If I can't be powerful, then neither can anyone else.

Makes me pity them, its mostly just conservative bunk. Women "appeared" to be more submissive in past generations due to the culture of the time. So the next generation grew up being taught "that's how things worked". But urbanization and more civil rights have broken that model.

As a society we need to figure out what to teach our boys.

A lot of people don’t understand submissiveness. People confuse it with control abd if a person does not want to be controlled but loves you they will go along until they get oppressed depressed let themselves go or if they were originally confident they will run with you until they feel kicked like a dog a d they will attack you in some way.

People tend to equate submission to weakness and someone whose being used and controlled (kinda) but that’s not what it is. A submissive woman is attractive to men because it is a trait on femininity and that complements a mans masculinity. However submission should be well placed and Earned by men I adore submission but too much of it is a huge turn off to me especially to the point where a woman seems incapable of doing anything. And in all honesty women are naturally submissive to masculine men whom they are attracted to (and those men are usually high quality and high valued).But this is my opinion

I think those guys need to explain exactly what they mean when they say "submission" because the term is so loaded and vague that it's very easily misunderstood and often gets lost in translation.

I will say though that I do believe that there is a basic level of decorum that girls and women should have towards boys/men (and vice versa). For example, I think it's inappropriate for a woman to be confrontational towards a man as she should be adept in feminine ways of handling disagreements. I also believe women should put more emphasis on learning domestic and child-rearing skills and prioritize marrying provider men during their reproductive prime. I guess this sort of "ladylike etiquette" is the closest thing to explaining the "submissive woman" concept.

As a Muslim I feel their ideology is correct with respect to Western society. And yes, women should be submissive to some extent at least. If the man isn't in charge of the relation, it's gonna be a standoff and nothing else.
