Both genders practice hypergamy. Not everyone participates. But enough do to warrant an observable trend.

It’s wrong to say all women practice hypergamy. It’s also equally wrong to hand-wave it away and say it doesn’t exist.

Like most things, the real answer lies in the gray middle ground.

I think the important lesson here is to acknowledge that it at least exists. And then as individuals, strive to avoid practicing that behavior. And then additionally recognize it, so that we can protect ourselves.

An example is if a person cheats on their partner to be with you — they’ll probably cheat on you for the next better option.

Being educated isn’t just about knowing stuff, but having the wisdom to use that information to improve your life in a meaningful way.

My reasoning is different. They say that young women are at their peak of attractiveness. Well, if that is true, that doesn't mean that men are hypergamous and women aren't? The most attractive people on the sexual market are fucking guys below their own attractiveness, so?

This is true. You even have a link to the stats. You don't need to try to justify it with your claims about men being hornier. Why there are more men on dating apps is a complicated social-psychological phenomenon, but it doesn't have anything to do with the myth that men have a naturally higher sex drive.

Well summarized argument. I especially appreciate the link to testosterone effect on libido. Unfortunately, this sub is ideologically opposed to the idea that women's sexuality is in any way different from men's which is the one place where one would expect to find differences. Given that men & women are, you know, different sexes.

Women don't have lower libido, that's a myth. Women just have a lot more to lose when it comes to one night stands. Women can have a high libido and still be abstinent. Biology isn't the only factor.

My libido isn’t lower than my boyfriends. Women not being into tons of casual sex doesn’t always mean they have a low libido, they prefer simply having it with someone they know a bit and feel comfortable with (for good reasons, sexual assault and entitlement of men just being one of them)
