“You painted a naked woman because you enjoyed looking at her, put a mirror in her hand and you called the painting “Vanity,” thus morally condemning the woman whose nakedness you had depicted for you own pleasure.”

Interesting video

So I feel like for the women mentioned, they felt empowered due to having financial freedom. Something that any successful businessman would also feel. However they are different. Generally speaking, the women exploit themselves, while the businessman exploits others. It is the women's choice. However, it's a pseudo-choice because it's like they are choosing between being poor or self-objectifying and potentially being rich. If they were born rich, and didn't have any trauma, Idk if they would be doing that.

Also, regarding Emily's photos, I remember reading the article where, yes she says she "consented" to taking naked photos, but I specifically remember her saying that at first it was just lingerie, and when he said to take all of her clothes off, she wanted to seem experienced and cool and basically not prude-ish, aka Cool Girl, so she did. And she also was nervous to be with him all alone, she was given alcohol and remembers being assaulted by the photographer. How is that empowering? It's more like a means to an end.

I also don't think that it sets a good role model for girls. They see that in order to have money and power, they need to sell their body, in some way, to men. And most of them won't become super rich like these women.

These are just my thoughts.

Right? So why can a businesswoman not be cool and polarize without being the object of desire? There is no real empowerment until woman can chose any variation of seriousness + sexyness a they like without being judged for it and be successful.
