Oh geez. I’ll never forget the time I was in a work planning meeting, all men except for me. Someone mentioned coffee, and several heads turned to look at me, despite me being one of the managers present. I sat there and stared right back. Nope.

My mother is a doctor. She is turning 65 soon and still gets treated like a nurse by her male colleagues. Once I had enough and threatened one of her colleagues with a lawyer, because he called her a "wannabe doctor" in front of me (they have the same rank, while my mom is more experienced tho). The constant fights drain you extremely. I could share a Ton of stories that my mother told me. I wish I could protect every single woman out there from being treated like this, but sadly I cant even protect my own mother properly.. its sickening..

Oh, this is maddening!

I'm an educated professional with over 20 years of experience in my field (finance). I have a pretty prestigious position at my company.

My boss has referred to me as "young lady" on a few occasions in the last month. On the third occasion, I reminded him I am 40 years old and really don't appreciate being treated like his daughter.

He apologized and explained he sees himself as my "work dad" although he is only 10 years older. I let him know that is extremely patronizing.
