why not "life partner" ?

do you just want to date for 5 years and then break up?

i've seen it on dating subs and relationship advice subs. people say "i'm looking for a long term relationship" instead of "i want to settle down/ or get married."

and it's usually men saying this. it's like deep down they know they aren't really committed, but would just like girlfriend privileges for a few years until they find the person they actually want to get with.

most people say "casual dating/hookups" when they know they don't want something serious, but "LTR" just seems to be a milder version of that.

thoughts on this? am i being crazy or am i onto something???
