I've gotten to the point where if men are acting sleazy and making gestures while I'm jogging, I just flip them off. They can come at me and get tazed. When I was growing up in Jersey, my aunt always told LVM 'act up and you could get snatched up'. Now it's a philosophy I live by. (this is a reposted comment I made, and here's the tazer I use. Please take classes/watch youtube tutorials before using. A really great place to taze an attacker, if you get close enough, is the upper thigh, neck, or chest. Some tazers have features similar to stun guns, where you can taze from a 12 ft distance. Stay safe, ladies!).

Work around:

Get dog spray to use as mace. It's usually legal to have dog spray or bear spray even in places where pepper spray is banned.

I've also told several friends to send me coyote pics if they ever cross them. Help to grow the story that you were actually afraid of coyotes but if you get attacked it's just self defense.

I was given this advice by a cop, a family member. In my state pepper spray is illegal but he said that no cop on his right mind would do anything other than give you a thumbs up for protecting yourself, even if you were in the wrong for using it like pepper spray.

Most stun guns/tasers aren't strong enough to be useful. Especially ones of this size. They also don't penetrate anything other than thin clothing. They won't work if the person is wearing a jacket in winter time.
