This is sad because there are loads of women hoping their hookups turn into relationships. If I were to ever just hook up it would just stay like that. When sex happens before the vetting process, you don’t get the chance to date properly. Red flags would be more obvious if you didn’t attach through sex first. Now it’s gonna be harder to walk away.

Lol I gotta admit, my last relationship (3+ years) started as a hookup. However, the hookup situation lasted about a month before he told me he wasn't fooling around and wanted us to be exclusive.

If this situation lasts over 2+ months there's no way it will ever turn into a relationship. People know what they want, and they know it early on.

I think the “ever” in the question skews the answers to yes, because it does happen every once in a while, regardless of whether or not the responder approves of it.

Are they good relationships? Probably not; I feel like the whole point of long term hookups is to pass the time until someone you want to date comes along, (I’m not a proponent of this now, but in my early 20s this is how I and many of my friends and casual hookup partners saw hookups).... so converting the hookup to a relationship means one or both partners are settling.
