If you cannot trust that he’ll spend the rest of his life tenderly holding you in his arms through sickness, grief, and pain, — he’s not the one.

Facts. Makes me think of couples who talk proudly about their "in case of health emergency, break the relationship" agreements. You know the kind: "I told my husband if I'm ever in an accident that puts me in a wheelchair for life, or comatose, or just not able to have sex anymore - he is free to leave me! I never want to be a burden."
.... Sweet tap-dancing Jesus 🤦♀️

Whyyy? This so heartbreaking that some people joke about/normalize this 😔

That's the first time I've heard of that. That's pretty sad. Why marry the person then. They are obviously going to leave you when something better comes along. It is a lot behind that statement and the person who agrees to it.

That’s disgusting. So it’s basically a relationship of convenience.

They look so sweet ❤️ It's an awful situation but I'm so glad he did what a spouse is supposed to do.
My dad has an autoimmune disease and my mum has been carrying for him full time for 12 years. He told her to leave and she refused 💜

This is because love is stronger than illness, and it's what keeps them here even when they should let go. My husband was like that. He knew he needed to pass on but he because he loved me so much he kept putting it off.
Seeing couples like this is super rare and its unfortunate.

That reminds me of my bf’s grandparents, both sets of them. He lost his paternal grandfather and since then his grandma has been getting worse, but according to him she misses her husband and wants to join him. Apparently they traveled a lot and experienced many nice things together up until he passed away. His other grandpa is in a home and his grandma was showing me their wedding picture, talking about how much she wishes he could live with her, how she loves and misses him and about their 65-year marriage. 😭

That is unconditional love and what a partnership should be like.
I can't count how many times a man dipped when things got difficult. I've experienced so many illnesses, so many surgeries, alone without anyone to care for me. I almost died years ago and while in the hospital for two weeks my boyfriend was going out clubbing, and then getting mad at me for saying the wrong thing when I had almost died from a brain infection and was heavily medicated.
That is why I never ask a man for help or take him seriously when he offers it. It's usually just for show; they'll likely never follow through.

I’m so sorry to hear you were alone through all of this. It’s incredibly sad to hear that none of these men couldn’t be bothered. I hope they spend their lives alone and miserable.

Thank you. They'll probably always have some poor woman around them. Men like that always have "backups"
