This is correct because men can't simultaneously say they are stupid and/or ignorant about basic shit like this but say they are the logical gender and deserve to be in places of power or somehow make better leaders than women. If men are really that stupid, then they need to get out of leadership roles and hand over the keys to the women of the world. But they won't do that will they? They only feign ignorance when it serves them not to get in trouble.

There was a study of college-aged men where when the researchers described behaviors like sexual coercion and forced sex, a majority of men said they had done those things. However, when the researchers actually called those behaviors what they are—rape—far fewer men admitted to it.

The mental disconnect is astounding. They have no problem with actually assaulting someone but don’t you dare call them a rapist!

They also know that women are groomed from birth to never tell a man "no," to second-guess their own instincts and judgment, to feel guilty for making noise or commotion, and to take on responsibility for men's sexual behavior. They know all the ways women feel conflicted and confused around unwanted sexual behavior. They know to exploit these feelings and systems. They know exactly what they are doing.

While I absolutely agree with you about them knowing what they're doing is wrong I think giving it a name and confronting it with the name can be a reality-check that's worth the effort.

That wannabe-rapist knew what he was doing but hearing it being called what it was and hearing him being called out for what he was made him realize that he would have no moral defense as he would have claimed otherwise.

His actions were given the appropriate name in the moment.

I've managed to stop incidents before by giving men's actions names so I firmly believe in this method. It doesn't always work but it works on some men that realize they don't want to live with the consequences of their actions once those actions have a name.

This is why I decided to never drink or smoke on dates again. Up until the end of 2019, I would go on bar dates or hang out and smoke with them, this would almost always lead to hooking up. Guys take you out to a bar for a reason, to get a (Few) drinks in you and to have sex. WTF. DUH.

Technically that's rape, you cannot consent under the influence yet here it is common practice.

People are never just 1 thing. And every one is doing the right thing in their own head.

They absolutely know what they're doing, but in their mind it's just "playing the game she wants" or "Being convincing" or "playful groping". The connection is never made that this is sexual assault ans/or rape.

Most rapists don't set out with the intent to rape, because they're too ignorant to realize that's what they're doing. In their mind, they're not doing anything bad, just "Being persuasive" or whatever bullshit out as they use.

And that just makes it even worse, because not only are they doing terrible things, they don't even realize it. And how can you stop a behaviour if you don't even realize you're doing it? How do you concince someone who can simultaneously be a rapist, proclaim rape is bad, and think they're a good person?
