If a man wants to wear a dress, he can wear a dress. If a woman is legitimately and genuinely attracted to the dress-wearing man (particularly while he's wearing said dress), fabulous.

But I'm not going to force myself to like or be attracted to something I'm not attracted to, and neither should anyone else.

If Emily wants to gaslight herself in the name of wokeness, she's free to do so, but please keep the rest of us out it.

Seriously tho.. with as many times as she had to say she was attracted to him (roughly 5 times, which is impressive in an article that’s about 6 paragraphs long) I’m wondering who she is trying to convince.

It just sounds to me like she is forcing herself to fit in this image that she has of herself in her mind. This is just a box to check on the way to being the MOST WOKE WHITE WOMAN.

Also.. she considers herself part of the problem because she struggles to desire her boyfriend while wearing dresses but she doesn’t consider herself part of the problem by taking part in a tradition of skiing down a mountain in a dress to honor women mountaineers. So she forced herself to go through all this introspection in order to change her feelings and priorities. Meanwhile it sounds like her boyfriend just likes wearing dresses because he thinks it’s funny. So as usual the woman is doing all the emotional labor to accommodate a man.

I wonder if she would have felt less pressured to accommodate him if his attention-seeking behavior didn’t intersect with the hot button topic of gender expression i.e. if he instead liked wearing t-shirts with vulgar phrases or graphics.

People are allowed to have preferences ffs. Women don’t have to find men in dresses attractive or masculine anymore than men have to find extra muscular women attractive and feminine. Anyways by the picture it looks like he’s wearing the dress just to be outlandish.....so it seems like she’s jumping through a lot of mental hoops for what is nothing more than a joke on his part.

Liberal Feminists needs to shut up already. You are allowed to be less attracted to your man wearing a dress, just like he does not have to find you sexually arousing when you sit on the toilet. There is nothing wrong with men wanting wear a dress in my opinion, but you do not have to badger or get angry with yourself about not feeling sexually attracted to a man wearing a dress. I feel like this kind of none-sense is trying to brainwash women into not being able to feel how they do.
It is saying you are not allowed to feel or say what you want.

Sorry, I personally think there's nothing wrong with men wearing dresses. Absolutely. Dresses are not inherently female. To say so would bring us back to dress/pink = female, pants/blue = male.

The issue I have with this article though is that the author doesn't address how it's normal for a person to find men wearing dresses odd after having been raised in the very society that hates on men for wearing 'feminine' clothing. There's a difference between having a negative gut feeling because of what you've been taught all your life (which is, by the way, incredibly hard to unlearn) vs. actively pushing toxic masculine views.

Not to mention that the way she describes her boyfriend makes it sound like he's just histrionic and desperate for attention - instead of being a man interested in wearing traditionally female clothes because he finds them beautiful.
