I was hanging with my roommate and his mildly attractive friend this evening and we got onto the subject of dating. I asked her to swipe on tinder in front of me and share her thought process. She happily agreed and we took a look. Here's what I learned.

First off, She's 27 and a solid 7 in my book but no higher. At least she's thin.

  1. 98 percent of the time she makes her entire judgement call on the first photo. If you're not on a boat, ripped or doing something wild like hanging off of a bridge, it's a swipe left. I saw her swipe over 100 profiles and she swiped zero right.
  2. On occasions where she likes the first photo, she will not swipe right until she gets a "second opinion" via a second photo of you doing something wildly exciting in order to swipe right
  3. She never "unmatches" with guys because she does not want to ever talk to you again. And if she unmatched you'll reenter circulation and potentially be back on her swipe page down the road. She says all her friends do this.

All this being said, she says she swipes right on 5 percent of guys and every time she does it's a match.

A few other details from the interaction.

She's currently actively chatting and considering ONE single guy on tinder. I can honestly say hes a 10/10 Chad. 6 foot 3 and ripped. I was stunned. She says they're "really clicking."

She has 99+ super likes in her queue.

She has gone on 5 dates for the past 100 swipe right conversations. 1 of those 5 turned into a boyfriend that ended recently.

When I asked her, "why not read a little bit of the bio to color your understanding of the guy? Before swiping left" She answered, "there are so many guys I can replace you so easily that it's totally unnecessary."

I honestly do not see how any man can spend any significant time on your standard dating profiles after seeing what's happening on the other side. Dont take my word for it! When you're at a party, ask a girl you know to swipe in front of you and see what she sees.
