My young daughters turned on this show, and I heard a really inappropriate joke after just a couple minutes, so I started paying attention.

As I’ve mentioned before, I screen pretty hard for content that is kind and collaborative in nature, or where positive problem solving happens.

As I’m paying attention, this show is about a big bright pink ball of yarn, that works in an office full of men in suits. They make fun of her and make her feel bad. The ball of yarn goes into the bathroom and re-knits herself flat and into a suit. And then everyone likes her. This was less than 5 minutes in.

I made my daughters stop the show, and we talked about how it’s not okay to make fun of people, and that you should never change who you are just so someone (boy or girl) likes you. That people who are mean and make fun of you are not the type of people who are good friends. We’ve also talked about how some people SEEM like they are good by the stuff they do, but still make you feel bad on the inside, and how those are not good people either.

I may finish watching it after they go to bed to see if the ending is better than the beginning. But I was truly horrified.
