I really feel this book should be mandatory reading for every woman. It tells the story of a group of “pick up artist” men who use intentional trickery to convince women that they are HVM.

I’m pretty sure this is actually where “negging” was born, along with a whole host of other tactics.

By reading this we can arm ourselves against these shitty LVM tactics.

The attached excerpt is a classic example of sexual coercion and is really disgusting. They know exactly what they’re doing.

This is scary. And proves that dudes who are hot then cold (be it for sex or a relationship) are playing mind games. Someone who respects you wouldn't try to make you feel guilty if you have boundaries. That's why being a pickmeisha is bad: seeking to please men no matter what allows them to act like assholes and not get punished for it.

This is so freaking disturbing. We have all had that moment. They shut down, and we comfort and reengage because we don’t want to hurt their feelings and we do want to be with them. But just because we don’t want them to take their pants off doesn’t mean we don’t want ANYTHING. Notice how basically, unless they’re gonna get naked, the strategy is to freeze her out. It’s all or nothing. And she feels like....wait....what just happened? I thought he wanted me.

All women should read through key manosphere texts and sites. Be familiar with it all, understand these ideas, learn how to guard yourself against them. Following FDS principles is an excellent way to very quickly weed out guys doing PUA shit. Confidence and strong boundaries are key.

There are even more disturbing things in that book. Mind you this book has been the men's dating bible since 2005 and is completely normalized amongst them. I can understand why Strauss is trying his best to now distance himself from it all.

Anytime someone criticizes FDS please direct them to the many manosphere dating coaches who teach sexual coercion and other abusive methods as commonplace. I made a post about a BBC documentary that covers this.

This makes sense why so many young men were super creepy and rapey without actually raping me. I had to yell at a guy once "fucking stop!!" And get up. I have the book. Dissected it and use the same tactics on men. I also have his second book regarding relationships. They don’t understand that knowing how to get typical attention from women is different than maintaining a healthy relationship. Being a Alpha is more than being an ass. Plus I dated a PUA for a few years and learned what I could until he got the hints that I was just trying to figure him out and use what I learn to work towards my wants/needs. I think we should read all materials and experiment what works as well as learn how to see when people are trying to use those tactics on us.
