A phrase that stuck with me is something along the lines of "the man worth shaving for is the one who doesn't care if you don't shave"
[–]drinksmalkFDS Newbie36 points37 points38 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
This. Bloody love this.
[–]TitibaguettePickmeisha™️266 points267 points268 points 4 years ago (14 children) | Copy Link
Also, don’t bother buying lingerie or even matching sets. They rip them off without a second glance so might as well wear your comfy sets
[–]mintpuffyfluffsFDS Newbie182 points183 points184 points 4 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
Most lingerie is for men. Let them buy it then. Then you decided if you’re willing to wear it.
[–]kaylazomgFDS Newbie51 points52 points53 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
I like lingerie to feel sexy and boost confidence, not that I’ve ever worn it before tho... my first partner kind of chuckled when I wore this choker piece and I felt silly for wanting to be dressed up, but he was an asshole anyways . I should not be fearful because of him
[–]kawaiianFDS Newbie13 points14 points15 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
wear it when you want. the good ones will appreciate it and make you feel good in your skin. being yourself in healthy ways repels the right people.

True
[–]em0873FDS Apprentice27 points28 points29 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Yes omg I just wear black cotton thongs and guys literally think it’s lingerie bc it’s black but really it’s so my coochy can breathe lmao
[–]extraacct1234Ruthless Strategist65 points66 points67 points 4 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link
Yeah there is no point. Those awful lingerie sets are always too uncomfortable, ill made and scratchy to get aroused in which meant I was always behind him.
[–]Beenanorama19 points20 points21 points 4 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link
Personally, I really like cute lingerie sets, but it’s never for a man for damn sure!
[–]extraacct1234Ruthless Strategist15 points16 points17 points 4 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link
Yeah I had so many, then realized men didn't give a crap. And also that men aren't worth shit.

Honestly if a guy isn't down to fuck me with a full bush, hairy legs, no makeup, while I'm in old sweats then he can get lost because my vibrator doesn't give a fuck.
[–][deleted] 7 points8 points9 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Dude, the moment I discovered vibrators was the moment I had an orgasm for the first time. I mean....woweowowow.

[–]quasarbarFDS Newbie59 points60 points61 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Truth! I dated a grown-ass man after breaking up with an abusive narcissist, and the new guy nearly thought I was crazy for thinking he'd care about stupid stuff... stupid stuff the narc ex taught me to think men would care about.
[–]cubiecubeFDS Newbie24 points25 points26 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
body hair and cellulite are literally secondary sex characteristics meant to protect your body. blemishes and stretch marks are often caused by going through hormonal changes such as puberty and pregnancy.
if a man has a problem with these things, then he has a problem with dating a grown adult woman.
[–]venomoth91FDS Newbie73 points74 points75 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Also, they don’t care if you’re taller than them in heels.
Only insecure LVM care about that.
[–]donteatmee3333FDS Newbie104 points105 points106 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Sometimes I still feel bad about my weight but then I realize most men don’t care. I’d try to hide my stomach but they did not care. They were more interested in the boobs in their face lol Don’t let losers and the media make you feel bad about how you look. You are a queen!
[–]smothered_realityFDS Newbie12 points13 points14 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
lol It took me way too long to realize this. I always felt so uncomfortable about my weight and I realized it’s mostly in my head (and my mother’s but that’s her problem). Yeah most of the time they have other distractions to focus on lol.
[–]sofiacarolinaFDS Newbie15 points16 points17 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
too bad grownassmen make up like 2% of the male population (this doesn't mean lower your standards tho obv)
[–][deleted] 57 points58 points59 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I needed to hear this. Emphasis on the “grown ass men” portion might I add.
[–]Sea_SoilFDS Newbie58 points59 points60 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
Unfortunately... There are still grown ass men that care about this stuff, many of them are pornsick and expect that women don't fart or have body hair either.
I would change it to HVM.
[–]starsheepieFDS Newbie[S] 27 points28 points29 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I think that for the sake of this group, it is implied that a "grown ass man" = HVM.
[–]boostlolitaFDS Newbie12 points13 points14 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I wish my brain could realize this. I recently left an abusive relationship and he completely destroyed who I was and any self confidence I had left. I’m terrified to meet guys now because all I see are my flaws :(

That sounds like what we call in therapeutic terms a "corrective emotional experience." I'm glad you found a HVM!
[–]extraacct1234Ruthless Strategist50 points51 points52 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Me er ever let a LVM make you feel bad about your natural body.
[–]JumpingonairFDS Newbie8 points9 points10 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
This might be aggressive but: I don’t give a shit what the majority of men care about lollll (also what do these men look like tbh lol)
Guys will fuck anything. When I’m insecure about something of course I know there’s a man out there who won’t care, but I hold myself to a higher standard then “well he doesn’t care so it shouldn’t bother me”. I don’t feel comfortable letting a man “approve” of things on my body.
If anything I mostly feel like saying “oh I’ve noticed, I’ve seen the last girl you hooked up with- pretty obvious not much bothers you” if anything.
[–]XHelheimXFDS Apprentice22 points23 points24 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Grown men don’t care about this because they care about you! Fuckboys are just living in a porn-rotten brain that women are IG models and plastic toys.
[–][deleted] 73 points74 points75 points 4 years ago (23 children) | Copy Link
Disagree.
Actually men do care about blemishes. They just don't care about blemishes if they are hooking up with you or are a FWB.
But if you want a relationship, acne will impede that.
I have struggled with PCOS related cystic acne for over ten years. Men have said to my face they'd never date me seriously because of how I look, but they'd happily fuck me.
Men want trophies they can show off to their families and friends. Very few will ever take the chance in someone they actually like -- they want to impress people. Men date and marry to signal and show off status, not for their legit desires.
[–]starsheepieFDS Newbie[S] 33 points34 points35 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
It sounds to me like all of those men who tried to make you feel insecure about your blemishes & were too shallow to date you were all LVM. I'm sure if you found a HVM, they would adore you regardless & see you for the queen you really are.
[–]em0873FDS Apprentice11 points12 points13 points 4 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
This is why I’m doing accutane lol I’ve always had FWB, or men who have dated me but never committed fully. I know it might not be due to my acne alone but it always makes me insecure, which I’m sure has affected how I am in relationships.
[–][deleted] 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
I am also going on Accutane too this January! Just signed iPledge on Friday. I can't ducking wait.
And I've had the same thing with relationships and my face.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Fingers crossed! I'm worried it won't work for me because pcos can sometimes be resistant to Accutane. But there's still hope!

I have largely gotten rid of my PCOS cystic acne by taking retinyl palmitate 9000 IU's a day (you can take up to 10,000 IU's safely). Retinyl palmitate is the vitamin A from animal sources (liver). It's a very cheap supplement that is relatively easy to find and acts the same way as using topical retinol which also works for cystic acne. But taking it orally is cheaper and a lot easier. I used to have it all over my face, back and chest. After 4 years my back is free of acne and also scars. And used to look terrible.
I also found I can not eat triple cream Brie without a terrible outbreak, a lot of women with PCOS cut out cheese.
[–][deleted] 17 points18 points19 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Thanks. I haven't consumed dairy in over a decade.
I stopped consuming dairy years ago because it aggregates my eczema. My cystic acne never improved by eliminating dairy. But thanks for your opinion.
The only thing that works is spironolactone and tretinoin topical.
I tried taking vitamin a supplements but they caused severe leg pains. I once collapsed while walking after taking these supplements for about three weeks. Intense pain. Ended up stopping.
[–]extraacct1234Ruthless Strategist2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
That's really scary
[–]fim_de_semanaFDS Newbie4 points5 points6 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
How did you identify your trigger? I’m trying to figure out if something is giving me breakouts, but I don’t know how to tell!
Honestly I read a story about a woman who had the same thing happen and then I ate quite a bit of some Brie and had a horrible breakout. It happened again and I knew.
Acne is hard because it takes at least 6 weeks for your skin to clear so you would have to make really dedicated changes.

[–]extraacct1234Ruthless Strategist1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Well I used to use topical retinol but having to slather it all over my face, back and chest everyday wasn't working for me. It's easier and cheaper to take retinyl palmitate orally. If I wanted to I could still use some topical retinol.
For the clogged pores, I don't know if it's similar to yours, but I just get my face good and warm so my pores are open and then use a cleanser and a facial brush to gently scrub and exfoliate three times a week. I also use stridex and bentonite clay masks. If I feel a cystic blemish coming up I'll treat it at least four times with the clay mask and sometimes that will get to go away.

I was just sharing what worked for me, jerk. If you want to be rude to people who are just trying to offer some advice that worked for them and for other people with PCOS then I can always ban you.
[–]sensiblebohemianFDS Newbie3 points4 points5 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Many men probably do. I hit the jackpot with my man—cause I’m the only one in the relationship who cares that I have cystic acne on my chin that I am ruthlessly trying to clear.
Though, I totally understand how it can be hard as hell to date with acne. 2020–here’s to figuring out wtf is up with our skin and how to appease the clear skin gods!
I’ve been on spiro (the highest dose) for 2 years, and lately the side effects have been so awful and my acne has come back anyways, that I’m searching for something else. Legit gonna give up coffee, my sweet life nectar, and see if that helps.
[–]Deadgirl1888FDS Newbie5 points6 points7 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I have scars from my cystic acne and I got called pizza face a lot in my early 20s. The lush coffee scrub worked really well for me and now I have clear skin. Then I moisturized with cbd oil which I was worried about since my skin is so greasy but it actually helps with that.

Try getting laser done.
[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
I've had IPL and laser genesis and blue light therapy.
None have worked. What laser works for you?
You know that most lasers can't be used on active cysts, right?
[–]throwawway2091-1 points0 points1 point 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I don't know why I got downvoted. I just have hormonal acne on my chin and had laser genesis and it seemed to help a little. IPL is more for hyperpigmentation.
[–]mememe88888FDS Newbie5 points6 points7 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Lol I feel like that’s because most men care about literally nothing at all. Especially ones that are just trying to sleep with you- they will say and do anything for that to happen.
[–][deleted] 3 points4 points5 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
As long as you let them stick their dick in you, you're fine.
[–]TomoshaamooshFDS Newbie5 points6 points7 points 4 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link
No amount of PSAs like this will ever make me not insecure about my labia though..
[–]extraacct1234Ruthless Strategist51 points52 points53 points 4 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link
Try the labia library http://www.labialibrary.org.au/photo-gallery/
Don't ever let men make you feel bad for your beautiful labia. Remember they spend their entire lives just trying to get back into a vagina. All this anti labia bullshit is very recent and created by men because they are assholes and they hate women.
I worked on that by looking at photos of real vulvas, positive self-talk, and sending love to my beautiful vulva while masturbating, as corny as that sounds. Now I fucking love my labia and vagina and will wreck any man who tries to hurt me. My pussy is for worship or get out.
[–]TomoshaamooshFDS Newbie1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
Yeah I feel like mine is still 'worse' than the ones pictured though. Whenever I see a gallery like that I always feel that way. It's just so asymmetrical! No man has said anything directly about it so far I just feel like there's no doubt that I'm the "worst" looking girl down there that they've ever been with. And if they say anything about my "pretty pussy" during dirty talk or whatever I know they're lying.
[–]cherieblosumRuthless Strategist9 points10 points11 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
No one is gonna be judging your labia like that. Especially if he loves you for who you are. I have asymmetrical breasts and I used to want to get implants because of it. Now I just act like I'm confident and don't care and I think that translates more to men liking it. I would never get implants now.
[–]cubiecubeFDS Newbie3 points4 points5 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
if i’m reading these comments right, both of those situations just make you more attractive to more men.
men who like bigger boobs? got u covered.
men who like smaller boobs? got u covered.
men who like more labia? got u covered.
men who like smaller labia? got u covered.
literally the best of both worlds. not even being flippant here—i’m bi and have dated women as well. asymmetry is a) incredibly common and b) just as attractive as symmetry.
