Ever notice how redditors talk a lot about concepts of male oppression that literally never happen in real life, like ever? Just recently a post has been circulating about how a guy thought he could give more compliments without judgement if he were a woman. Which just isnt true. Like I've never been weirded out by a genuinely innocent compliment like "woah nice shades" "cool hair!" "Omg I like that shirt!" "You have a great smile" Just because a guy said it. And I don't know any person who has ever.

If I was ever made uncomfortable by a compliment that was specifically from a guy, it was because it was already sexually charged, like "you're so attractive" "you're sexy" "How can I not look at you when you're wearing that?" etc etc. Like of course those comments make me uncomfortable because you're acting thirsty as fuck and clearly I know what you're trying to get out of saying them.

The post/comment was so out of touch that person even mentioned that they're a big person with facial, as if being a woman they instantly wouldnt be overweight or have a similar build. As if all women are magically sexy. How out of touch with reality can men be?

Oh btw, I just find it hilarious that men talk about this whole not being able to compliment each other or receive compliments bullshit while simultaneously complimenting the fuck out of each other like "hang in there king" "you'll find a chick that deserves you" "You just gotta be more confident men, girls will be all over you" "sick setup dude" "this is brilliant" etc etc etc 😂

Literally itll be like LVM1: Men can never talk about their feelings ever and no one ever compliments us (this literally gets posted over and over again all over reddit, but sure, no one EVER talks about it lol) LVM2: you're so brave king, you know it fam. It's just so hard out here

🤡🤡🤡

What are some "male oppression" myths that only exist on reddit and literally never happen in the real world?
