Eye contact. I find that if a man is vibing with me and I'm vibing back with him, if we're hanging out with others then letting the eye contact between us linger a little bit when I could look away because I have nothing else to say to him directly is a great signal, because it makes them wonder why I'm lingering. Very subtle, but it makes them curious. It's like using someone's name in a sentence, it makes them wonder why and makes them feel seen (that's another way to signal interest)

If you're not hanging out in a group (or you are) and want to be a little more overt, don't be afraid to just touch, just a little bit-- reach your hand out to him for a second if he makes you laugh, stuff like that. I find that using body language is both subtle and alluring. But keep it subtle!

It is true though, you don't need to do too much if the other person is already interested, especially if he's a man. They're on the hunt.

Confident men who have their shit together will pick up on your eye contact and, if you’re chatting, active interest in the conversation and make a move. That’s it! If he wanted to, he would.

As for the shy ones: Less confident, anxious, or sometimes neurodivergent men (not all of these folks are LV!) might be hesitant or literally scared to approach you. The most I’m willing to do to give them a greenlight is pay them an easy compliment or two. “I like your smile/attitude/outfit,” etc. and see if they bite. And if that doesn’t work I move on; if he needs to be heavily coddled to ask you out, he’s gonna have a f-cking complex after getting with you.

Be open, but always part just when it starts to get good, in depth conversation and laughter, and leave him wanting more to create intrigue.

Never overpress or continue with an in depth discussion that will disclose more about yourself than you're ready to share or you could give him second thoughts. Learn more about him and divulge less. Knowledge is power and control. You want to be the decider, not him.

Always remember that even if he appears to be an HVM, he's not the only game in town. Don't act like he is. Even if you're returning home to a dusty can of soup, your cats and a night alone with Netflix, you still have options. Remember, you might end up with this guy and he might be an LVM and then you may long for the days of canned soup, cats and Netflix. It's not what he thinks of you, but what you think of him.

Eye contact and making conversation are great starting points. If he is interested, he will be up front and ask you out, none of this “talking and hanging out” for 3 months.

Be friendly and open if he approaches you. Otherwise keep living your best life and doing whatever you are there to do. Don't worry about leaving the door open or inviting his presence or any of that. If he wants to ask you out, he will. If he wanted to, he would. Period.

Looking at him and smiling (then look away and glance back, if it's someone I don't know/know well already).

Playing with my hair when we're talking (cliché yes, but for a very good reason: most of us know what it's supposed to mean).

Putting my hand on his forearm when we're talking, and leave it there for a few seconds.

Complimenting his hair (if he has nice hair, of course lol).

Edit: I don't recommend using them all at once though, or you'll seem desperate. There contact one was definitely my go-to when I was single. And the others were more as I got to know the guys.

It depends on the context and situation.

If they are total strangers and you just see them at the grocery store or coffee shop-- these are bad situations to signal anything. Of course, you can still meet someone at a random place while doing errands, but the context and situation is not good for conversation or engagement. Not that I'm assuming you're trying to get guys at the grocery store to ask you out.

If you meet at work or school-- school is fine, but be careful at work. Meeting someone at a networking event-- that is probably fine and won't get complicated. Getting flirty with someone who works directly with you in the same department? Some people take the risk and are happy that they did but generally, most relationships don't work out and most people work for money.

Best places to meet someone-- at social hobbies or events, like group sports, places where people are open to conversation and engagement. I admit that this is hard these days.

Signalling that you're interested... well you don't have to signal anything if the context is good. Just say hello, ask him a question, start a convo. Just be friendly. Talking to a person (especially in a group setting with other people) doesn't mean you are hitting on them. The guy will ask you out or (if he is shy or awkward) will get excited that you're talking to him and will try in any way to extend the convo/continue talking to you.

Sorry but I would consider this to be a 'pick-me' question. If he wants to date you, he would ask you out. An HVM won't be playing games and nor should you.
