Why do feminist subreddit ban people with opposing ideal?

0 points104 commentssubmitted by KingMaegorTheCool to r/AskFeminists

Just like the title said, though I do understand why you would want to ban a troll, but by banning people with ideals not in line with feminism, isn’t that just silencing people’s freedom of speech? And by doing so, it prevent a dialogue from happening, a discussion between two different sides will enlighten both of the discussers on what each side are, and at the end of the day, one might switch side. To banned people seems very much like an attempt to shield your ideal from criticism. Can you explain why so many feminist subreddit do that?
