World-class colleges spawn the most hipster of communities and campus with a good slew of internationals and rather frivolous New Englanders. Boston is the birthplace of the American Revolution as well as being a heavily liberal/democratic leaning city. The bars close down at 2AM, which cuts down majorly of the nightlife scene, however there are plenty of venues to choose from in the area for gaming, from Cambridge to Brighton and from Quincy to Downtown. Gaming can bring about a high reward, but the risk may have a higher DEFCON level than it appears.

Stats:

  • Population of 656,000, slightly higher female pop.
  • Greater Boston contains 4.5 million people (incl. parts of NH & RI)
  • Boston Proper diversity: 53% white, 27% black, 19% Latino, 9% Asian
  • Cost of living: definitely too much
  • Liberals/SJW: Almost everywhere you turn

I would like discussion to revolve around:

  • Gaming at the dive bars (worst) and the best venues
  • Day game at campuses/squares
  • Cheap living (housing/gym membership/food/going out/employment)
  • Dealing with provocative SJWs

So the problem I've noticed in Boston is higher bitch shields, less friendly women, frigid attitudes and a much tighter need for game.

Also the train shuts down long before the bars do.

Allston is a decent place to game, lots of college students there.

This is the dreaded North of Boston effect. It's even more brutal the farther north you go, but produces some of the tightest game.

The need for game is apparent, but I think the men in the area have such a lack of it that even the most basic of game can prove valuable.

Example: At a dive bar downtown with LTR. I leave my LTR for a sec to grab beers. When I return another guy is talking to her. All I do is give him one look and he retreats immediately. I said nothing. Competition is weak, but the women are definitely heavy with the bitch shields.

"I think the men in the area have such a lack of it that even the most basic of game can prove valuable." I can't agree enough with this. The women here are constantly surrounded by low confidence, semi-introverted men. The colleges here have done an excellent job of pussifying a ton of guys which would naturally lead to more bitch shields. Plus I've seen a bunch of these guy's approaches (after they've drank enough beer) and they creep out women. I also agree that competition is weak but the women here aren't used to good game. Being confident goes a long way in these (college) areas.

As usual Women have no logic. Why would a higher bitch shield be necessary for a lower confidence group of guys?

Boston is largely regarded as the US capital of academic science/ research science(harvard, MIT, BU's money and the affiliated research institutions born from each university). Also a lot of betas do science because it's somewhat safe, introverted, and for at least the beginning your social skills aren't too important. Confidence in science doesn't come till way after a PhD or you start earning above 100k as an engineer, so for ladiesto filter out sad grad students and post docs they rev up the bitch shield.

I only know this because I used to say my actual job (research chemist) and was shot down a lot. I try to not talk about work or my interest in chemistry because it makes it easy to group me in with them.

Yeah it's definitely changed (like all American cities). 10 years ago it really wasn't like that at least when I visited.

Places change and it's been a while, but I liked Davis Square. Tufts nearby. Good amount of bars and restaurants. The crowd there seemed fun, without Cambridge pretentious hipsterism, or too much of the "dirty Nikes and a Red Sox cap" crowd.

I live near Davis currently. It's pretty neat.

I hope this picks up again since I just moved here for a new job. For a gym I recommend the YMCA on Huntington Avenue. $40/month for young adult (22-29) with a couple squat racks and extra places to dead lift. It's the cheapest I've been able to find without being a total dump. I haven't been to the bars yet since I don't know anyone here but I will be hitting up Mary Anne's next weekend for the Super Bowl. Supposed to be a great college bar (dive) filled to the brim with Boston College students.

Ayy, I've worked out there a couple times since I'm still on the family's YMCA plan, although I joined a gym closer to my flat in Somerville which is actually just as clean and less money.

Will be at Superbowl for Superbowl tho.

Lot more Latinos up there then I would have anticipated. Thanks for the download.
