A common response to males committing suicide 3x times as often as women is “That’s because men choose more violent & lethal methods”, with misandrist implications that it’s a result of men being inherently violent. In reality, studies show that even using the same less-lethal methods, men die more.

I’m really glad to see this reach the front page of Reddit! Far too often, men’s issues are reduced to feminist platitudes of “men just need to open up more”, but the author of this paper looks more into deeper societal reasons for it.
