So Joe Biden has announced a potential law to provide free community college education for a 2 year associates degree. Also included in the hypothetical plan is housing costs.

There is a gender gap in university education in the US, with males comprising the minority of college students, and around 43%. (Article is from 2016 and the gap was grown since then.)

Part of the reason for this gap is how male high school students are [less likely to qualify for college scholarships](https://nces.ed.gov/fastfacts/display.asp?id=72- examine the graph, you'll seen men earn roughly 40% of scholarships overall, and this is true across every racial group recorded:

In that graph you'll see that all males students are behind all female students in receiving scholarships, regardless of race, for both Associates and Bachelors degrees.

It's important to note that misandry very likely plays a factor in men's scholarship gap- not only are there less scholarships available to men, but boys are set behind by biases, as boys earn lower grades in all subjects at all ages. This wouldn't be a case of sexism without their being evidence of grading bias at play, but alas, multiple studies suggest that due to systemic gender biases, boys earn lower grades for the same work as a large cohort:

Some of Biden's previous packages have been discriminatory against men- small business loans, farmers loans- but this one appears to be gender neutral and non-exclusive. If so, it could prove to be a very good step in moving closer to educational equality in the United States.

At any rate, the scholarship disparity is very telling, and another example of how men are economically disadvantaged in today's society.
