Comparing the oppression of men and the oppression of minorities

Old news. The parallel has been pointed quite a few times amongst male advocates.

Which is something on which I wish to disagree with the article. When it says :

the political tribes who care about racism are sharply separated from the tribes who care about men’s issues. This is unfortunate, because both tribes share the common goal of eliminating discrimination14 – maybe their filter bubbles only show them one side of the problem?

It makes it look like people who care for men aren't aware or care about racism, but nothing could be further from the truth.

Well, there was that study showing a wider sentencing gap between men and women than between black and white. And lots of people love to point out that black Americans are 12% of the US population but a third of people killed by police, yet you never hear them talk about how men are 50% of the population yet 95% of people killed by police.

I think the common thread is, both are directed towards "acceptable targets".

Minorities can be "acceptable targets" because of tribalism and xenophobia, men because they're seen as an "oppressor group".
