I was happy to find this intelligent and active community, and I've been spending a few days reading back into the archives and appreciating the thoughtful discussion of men's issues that takes place here - a kind of discussion quite different to the MRM that I knew circa 2014-17, when it was an often implicitly right wing area of the online space.

I would love to know what you guys -as left wing proponents of male advocacy- think of the nominally right wing nature of the MRM, as it developed online in the last decade via blogs and YouTube, and how it allied itself with the anti-feminism of GamerGate.

How did you feel about this alliance at the time? When did you realize that you were a left wing, in opposition to right-wing, male advocate - vis-a-vis the political culture of the men's rights movement at the time? How do you feel about the Honey Badgers or Carl Benjamin AKA Sargon of Akkad, specifically? (I came to post this after reading this excellent thread, A rant against Honey Badger Radio's interview of Derrick).

To stimulate discussion - here is the aforementioned documentary, "Munted, Random", which takes a look at an MRA, Michael Stephenson AKA DoctorRandomerCam, and his political trajectory as a result of involvement in the group, including close involvement with both the Honey Badgers and Carl Benjamin https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pLPA7wRRNj4

"a haunting re exploration of people I used to watch. I'm glad I grew up and stopped."
