I hope this doesn't seem like derailing, as this post is discussing circumcision in particular. But your usage of the term "female gaze" inspired me to write something out.

The "female gaze" is just as prevalent as the "male gaze". Men are held to rigid beauty and sex appeal standards as well. Sure, there's famous, wealthy guys like Seth Rogen or Post Malone, but there's also women like Amy Schumer and Melissa McCarthy. I bring that up, because some women will use examples of male celebrities like that to "prove a point", while ignoring that there are female equivalents just as well.

Sure, it's entirely possible to find and surround yourself with people who don't allow their preferences and treatment of others to be formed by societal expectations and conditioning. But that doesn't change the fact that the conditioning exists on a societal level regardless. The "chad" stereotype exists for a reason. And in my experience, it's the most rad of radfems and bourgeois women in general, who uphold that stereotype. Just as bourgeois culture in the modeling, fashion etc. industries upholds those toxic expectations for women.

The problem is, many feminists seem to want to undo those expectations for women, but expect men to do all the work on our own, of undoing toxic expectations for men. They refuse to acknowledge that women uphold these standards. And when they do, it's hand-waved as "internalized misogyny", as though these women have no individual agency. The hypocrisy is astounding.

I have seen and heard of many women who hate the look or idea of an intact male penis. This is largely because they are not accustomed to them.

This repulsion to unmodified male genitalia in the American female leads to parents cutting off important erogenous, and functional healthy tissue from their newborn sons. This cosmetic alteration of the male child's genitals is done in expectation of the female gaze.

When feminists argue that the female gaze is non-harmful we can bring this up.

The foreskin has numerous health benefits and for 99.5% of the population there are no health benefits for cutting it off.

I can intellectually understand the problem with circumsizion, and if I ever become a dad I definitely won't do it to my kid. But for the life of me, I can't bring myself to care that much that it happened to me. But obviously this bothers a lot of people, and I wouldn't want to do it to my son just because I don't feel like its a big deal--maybe he will feel differently. I felt compelled to say this because of how often the subject gets brought up.

But yeah, this woman is being more than a little creepy. She's basically projecting her own preferences onto other women. I guess she claims to be doing it for her son's benefit, but I smell female own group preference going on here. It would be one thing to cite some objective reason for it that's more than just trying to "look out for other women". Also, who thinks about their baby getting blowjobs? Most parents I know can't even handle the idea of their kids growing up at all, much less eventually having sex.
