Putting the fact more men die at work and dangers. The "77%" is all down to life style choices, if I'm not mistaken young women are now out earning men in the UK.
[–]IslandicFreedom51 points52 points53 points 7 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
Young men also don't fuck off for years on maternity leave, neither do they get pregnant and quit the workforce for 5 years+.
So the wage gap they're talking about is the average earnings over a lifetime, not taking in these chasms of absenteeism into account.
[–][deleted] 17 points18 points19 points 7 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
For sure, the study did point out the fact that after 30 that men end up earning more due to the wiminz leaving to have kids. Conventional bias to women as per usual because wiminz deserve everything given to them and the fact that men earn less at the start is ok.
[–]sto2434 points5 points6 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Did they provide an adjustment based on the missing years of work?
[–][deleted] 5 points6 points7 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Just having the mere option of fucking off "to focus on my family" should give them lower pay. It's like a Damocles' sword hanging on the employer's head. You give her an important project to work on with lots of hopes, and N months into it, suddenly, she can say, "Oh, by the way, I'm pregnant", and then it's downhill all the way. Lower effort, lower dedication, you never know if she's going to come back to work after maternity leave...it's ridiculous. 70 cents on the dollar is way too much even if it were true.

I have some ahit you will absolutely love, 90 pages of statistical analysis on wage gap https://www.shrm.org/hr-today/public-policy/hr-public-policy-issues/documents/gender%20wage%20gap%20final%20report.pdf
TLDR: 65-75% of the wage gap is attributed to voluntary work interruptions for holidays and motherhood, the rest is accounted by experience difference, job and industry choice, health insurance (more insurance for more dangerous jobs) and overtime. The true adjusted wage gap is closer to 4-7% but it's not entirely reliable to calculate due to the immense complexity of the data so it will never be known exactly what percentage is due to discrimination. (However as the report shows it is absolutely nothing more than 7% of wage if anything)
So when fucking idiots tell you there's a wage gap show them this and tell them that the amount of statistical analysis to actually calculate it is far far beyond them, you CANNOT just do a simple division between male and female gross wages.
Edit: one thing to keep in mind if wage gap advocates show you thier own reports that 'prove' the wage gap is to look at the analysis methods, most of them won't say, a report that does not explain it's analysis methods is not worth anything. Also look at industry division , many reports incorrectly divide up industry for example they will claim women get less in the oil and gas industry but they will be including receptionists for oil companies in with oil and gas industry instead of administration industry.

A non-student women in her 20s can have no car, no job, lives with her parents, stay at home all day and watch TV, and get dozens of people wanting to date her if she's good looking (actual true story). Try the same for a man who isn't in college, has no car, no job, and stays in his mother's home all day and watches TV.
[–]NovaeDeArx5 points6 points7 points 7 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
In a way, it's gonna be interesting to see if that remains true in the changing economy we're facing.
There's just going to be fewer and fewer "single earner salaries" (where one partner can stay at home and the other can support a whole household solo) every year, which means that competition for guys with that kind of earning power is also going to skyrocket, at least among women that genuinely don't want to work.
Of course, that means that "not working" will also basically become a job, as they'll have to stay on top of their health, their house-care and so on so they're not perceived as replaceable. You know, like guys in the workplace have had to deal with since forever.
I honestly feel that it's gonna be a real culture shock for young American women that wanted to grow up and be a homebody like their moms, but it's also somewhat of the media's fault for failing to communicate the concept that you can't sit on your ass anymore, and that those days are gone.
[–]Trail_of_Jeers4 points5 points6 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
problem with this is women are totally OK with being part of a harem to one fo these dudes.
[–]professor_ape2 points3 points4 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
After we're all replaced by robots and rich people don't need us anymore to earn their money, men and women in the lower classes will just be a surplus population anyway. They're waiting for us to die off.

She doesn't even have to be good looking. If she is childless and not obese, men will line up around the block to date her.

Pretty much all the criteria women need. "Confidence", "personality", "sapio-sexuality" (LMAO!!!!!) are all just words women use to try to convince themselves that they are not as shallow as they really are. Women will try to argue to death that it's not true, but reality doesn't lie. If you aren't over 5'10" and >= 8/10, it doesn't matter how "confident" you are, women will only choose you because they're settling.

I was in a thread about income equality once, and a commenter said that "just because women place more value on a work-life balance doesn't mean they should get penalized for it!."
Yeah, because I'm fucking choosing to sit in an office working instead of chilling at home watching TV or playing video games. It's totally not because I'm fucking forced to.
[–]Trail_of_Jeers3 points4 points5 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Honestly, I agree with them, a person should not be punished for valuing work life balance.
So let's pay everyone the same no matter what.
Give feminism what it wants and watch the world crumble.

What I don't get is how men can't develop an own-group preference like women or Marxists. If we can't join them, we should be trying to beat them at their own game, politically.

It's not just that women bleat about earning less from doing less work. It's that they accuse this gap as being due to male sexism. Wtf what evidence do they have of that? Are women dependent solely on male wage providers?

I kinda doubt that posters in MGTOW and Redpill and PussyPassDenied have done much heavy lifting and worked in dangerous and uncomfortable working conditions.
FWIW I am a man and I run my own business and put in a lot of hours. 6 days a week with a lot of late nights. I also have a lengthy commute.
It's unusual to meet a woman who goes through this kind of a grind to make money. To be sure, I work in an office and not in a machine shop or coal mine. But definitely my work circumstances are an example of the real reasons which underlie the earnings gap.
[–]Trek1311 points12 points13 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
My career was flying a desk as an engineer, safe, comfortable and good pay. But before that I had a variety of physical jobs. The insulating and construction jobs I worked were often dangerous and unhealthy. Three friends I grew up with died in workplace accidents, one in a rock quarry, one logging and the last killed in a heavy equipment accident. My best friend I worked insulating with fell off a rolling scaffold and permanently wrecked his back, became addicted to pain killers and his life went to shit.
Zero wiminz in any of these places.
[–]Smoothtank11 points12 points13 points 7 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
based on what?
I've been a millwright for years. A lot of that work is cleaning, repairing/restoring or simply maintaining large, tall, filthy structures. Some nights I would come home and not be able to breathe for a week.
Other times some structures threaten collapse or lose sheets of metal or things drop from high. There's height work, welding and all sorts of dangerous situations.
I would bet your bet is way off the mark.
And I would add, in this job (and others like it) I never had a single female coworker.

So what you are saying is the wage gap is realsies and certain companies are paying women less for the same job? Maybe you and I can get together and start offering services in which we convince people the Equal Pay Act of 1963 exists and to sue. We'll take a commission and be rich in no time apparently.
