Haha, Bill Burr talked about this on his podcast. He was at the hospital with his pregnant wife, and all the women were talking shit about men and how they are all stupid.
Bitches, don't you realize that the ENTIRE field of Medicine was created and advanced by MEN? 99.9% of the advancements in Science and Medicine were due to the hard work of MEN? The building you are standing in was engineered and built by MEN? The lifesaving equipment that you use was designed and made by MEN? Etc, etc...
If we relied on Women for innovation and improvement, we'd still be living in caves and mud huts and using crystals for healing.

using crystals for healing.
So much this! Bitches love the woo-woo pseudoscience.

Damn, Turk got lucky that Carla isn't like that. Or Scrubs lied to us all along
[–]TheTorAnon125 points6 points7 points 4 years ago* (4 children) | Copy Link
Nah, due to the shortage of Doctors in the US more work dropped onto the nurses and they got huge egos "We do the real work etc"
Also Nurse Practitioners are a thing too. (They were in Scrubs too, but I've been seeing them more prominent now)
[–]IOpuu_KpuBopykuu1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
Huh, so Scrubs is just obsolete. Good to know
[–]TheTorAnon121 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Unfortunately yes.

It's still great tho. Except that mythical 9th season that doesn''t exist
[–][deleted] 3 points4 points5 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
They're also fucking crazy. Hairdressers and nurses... don't go there.
[–]escalover1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
As a former nursing student, nurses are trash people.

Bold of you to assume they do all that much, the kind of bitterness that is on display over there cannot originate if the rest of your life is going well.

When I ventured on to the various dating apps, I'd argue that in the last 3 cities I lived in, at least 80-90% of the women on there were nurses.

It must suck ass being a woman knowing your whole worth is predicated on the type of man you marry and his 'status'. You'll only ever be an addition to a man's life, where as men can be alone and satisfied without having to be 'completed' by a woman
[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I agree wholeheartedly. That's why all my life I worked hard, really hard to build my career and - at the same time - I was only interested in career women in STEM/Business.
The SAHM type of woman was never my type of woman.

I'm technically a doctor. PhD. When I visited my home town word got out that I was coming to visit and that, "I was a doctor now." This long lost friend of mine happened to show up. In highschool she was... Okay, average. Blonde, cute, but meh. She came with my friends to dinner. She had 2 kids now, still thin, shocking, I know. Anyway, we were all talking and having dinner when we started discussing what we were doing. She was a hair dresser and then started taking pictures and now works "as a photographer". I then got on to what I was doing, at the time. "My project is understanding the immunological component of HPV associated cancers."
"Oh wow, so you are an oncologist?"
"Oh, no. That is my research project."
"Oh I, thought you were a doctor.?"
"I am. This is my post-doctoral research project."
"Don't you have to do a residency?"
"Oh..." Then I understood the confusion "no, I'm a PhD not and MD or a DO"
"...oh"
"Yeah, so I am..."
She was pleasant enough but you could tell her interest was gone. Then we got to pay and i explained how I only make a little less than twice what I did as a doctoral student. This was it for her. Soon she was on her phone and in about 30 min she had to leave "for her kids"
I moved on my from post doc and now work at a company. It was funny though, even though I have a phd, this high school graduate, single mother of two, that was a hair dresser and photographer in a small town in the middle of nowhere thought me as not worthy of her. Lol

A MD has social status and far more valuable than a computer coder/programmer.
So when she tells her friends, I have a real no shit MD/doctor that far outweighs someone in tech.
Same thing let’s say a plumber or electrician who has like 5 vans and a crew under him can make 500k+ or more if he has his own business set up but to a female he will still be a nasty tradesmen and looked down upon.
For thots the social status and clout of a MD outweigh other professions

Yep, need to keep in mind that women want to be able to one-up each other when sitting around the cafe table at brunch.
"I'm dating an engineer."
"Well, I'm seeing a doctor."
"My husband is the mayor."
Women derive social standing from their partner's occupation, for some reason. Only to other women, of course.

but the psychiatrist gets crazy female interest.
Dating his clients is never going to end well!

Job security. Status. A guaranteed 200k / year minimum. And generally pretty good social skills.
Programmers can be anywhere from unemployed to mega-wealthy but tend to be in the undatable nerd category.

They are actually encouraged. Not only educational, but also shows we have a sense of humor as opposed to just being "woman haters".

I prefer to think of us as men who understand women.
