That's why Good Samaritan laws are pure bullshit. If you try to help you're very likely to get into trouble. Something as simple as helping the elderly on a stairs, on your way to work, can end in disaster. Just imagine if the old person trips and falls and breaks their hip, you will have to stay until the police and the paramedics come, give multiple declarations, probably go to the police department and wait for hours, maybe even get blamed, all of that while probably getting your boss very angry for not showing up.

It sucks but nowadays being good is being foolish.

I don’t normally frequent this sub but came here because I was interested in seeing what everyone here’s thoughts on this case are. I feel like I’m one of the few people who are even aware of all the facts in the case. I remember hearing about this case in like 2012, initially I sympathized a lot more with Cyntoia as I thought she was girl who killed her abusive pimp in self defense. However, a documentary came out around the same time that explained that Johnny Allen wasn’t her pimp, he was a John who she picked up at Sonic. She lied to him about her age and admitted to that in the doc and they didn’t even have sex. He was probably not the most upstanding guy but he didn’t deserve to be killed. People are labeling this man a child molester and a pedophile when that isn’t the case at all. It’s interesting how the documentary isn’t available to get off Amazon anymore. I wonder why hmm.
