Because therapy isnβt what men need.
Therapy is currently designed to help women (listen and understand her then help them feel differently in various ways).
Men do not need to feel differently, they need solutions to problems.
If a man is dad because of x, then the way to help him is give him a path to fix, get or get rid of x.

Men are the doing gender. We're at our most lost and uncomfortable when we either don't have anything to do or what we're doing feels worthless. Talking it out can assist with things but primarily some kind of constructive action is what we need. They're trying to push a female-oriented solution onto males and it just doesn't make sense.

Ever see a college girl with a car that has every dash indicator blinking out an SOS in synchrony? She'll talk about it all the time. Her friends will tell her those lights are all just funny anyway. The car blew up? Well, the car sucked.
Guys see an indicator light, try to determine the issue, and then repair the problem. Guys actually want to understand and fix the issues.

ding!
when consensus minded people (women, low T men, and anyone with emotional disorders) complains about problems, it's not because they want solutions. it's because they want to be heard, usually by someone else who is consensus minded. therapy makes these people feel better temporarily. they keep coming back over and over again because it was never about solving their problems. when you look at success rates for therapy and actually solving problems, it's a laughable failure.
when objective reality people (virtually all men) complain about problems, it's because they want a solution or assistance in a solution. these people have emotional fortitude to not need someone to just hear them out, and they realize that therapy is useless for solving problems.

I think you meant 'sad,' but... I envisioned Jack Palance with a coat hanger and a shotgun.
Thank you.

right.
Therapy is like those corporate meetings where nothing gets done... Big speak, grand ideas, xyzw, pie charts, but at the end of the day its all talk and a giant waste of time... A giant echo chamber... I guess some people want an echo chamber, but its a waste of time, and money when a soapbox is nearly free.
What folks really need is tangible action. Skip the useless meetings and start doing crap in the workshop. It has to be from your own intuiton... I mean nikola tesla built crap in his own workshop. He didnt have some therapy collaboration session with like westinghouse and edison... Your own mental health is a solo journey. Its not a 2 person therapy event.

Are you sure that a vet with PTSD does not need any therapy? That a therapy is not a solution? You know, there are many different therapies, including /r/mdmatherapy or eating shrooms...

As someone who actually has issues and has been to therapy, I have got two things to say:
1- You don't get to bully people into going to therapy. 2- If you send people to therapy to change for you, more often than not, the change is going to be the opposite of what you wanted.
My therapist once told me that therapy is to help you "make sense of your world" and strengthen your ego. Thus he told me he didn't work on teenagers since the parents would later complain their kid was "worse" than before.

There is nothing "wrong" about seeing a therapist; it's what you intend to do with it that matters.

Ancient Rome is interesting. Therapy is dull.

I have two bookcases filled with the military and political history of Ancient Rome.
I don't need to spend thousands of dollars for a couple hours to learn something about myself that I could get from chugging a bottle of booze and glaring at myself in the mirror.
I'd rather put that money toward the books.
[β]sicrm12 points13 points14 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
youβll learn a lot more from history
[β]Idiodyssey8712 points13 points14 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
History keeps men grounded by teaching them that men 2000 years ago had similar things going on in their lives.
Therapy makes women more insane by validating every feeling they have, no matter how ridiculous.

I've been to therapy... waste of time.
[β]Throwthe88276 points7 points8 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Me too. No solutions and cost me thousands.
I talked a lot about the problems and I already did that without a therapist to charge me.
No solutions.

I would rather learn everything about ancient Rome than to pay outrageous sums for two women to berate me for an hour. Been to therapy, done that, walked out. Never again.
EDIT: Actually, the more that I think about it, ancient Rome is fucking awesome! They built shit that lasted 2000 years. Defined laws and customs that are the underpinnings of our society today. Even our language is based on Latin. The ancient Romans were the world's #1 problem solvers - why wouldn't I want to learn more about them?

I feel sorry for the dude in the comments who had to deal with an assload of cock & ball torture and pills before being considered for therapy.

When my wife and I had issues we went to therapy to strengthen our marriage. Within a month of "therapy" she ended up making a false rape allegation against me in order to keep the house and the kids. 2 years later I'm waiting for my criminal court.
Therapy is a trap for men and enables women to make dumb/evil choices.

The only people helped by therapy are the therapists making a great living by sitting on their fat arse doing nothing all day.
I really pity people who fall the therapy scam.
[β]OwenWentFullMGTOW2 points3 points4 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
To be fair, studying ancient Rome will teach you something. Probably lots of somethings.
Going to therapy... less so.

Oh, the retards on Reddit and their instant go to reply of "go to therapy". If therapy worked as well as reddit thought it would, nobody would need it anymore. People go to therapy for DECADES, spending thousands upon thousands of dollars with little to no progress to show for it. Most therapy is trying to get people to realize that they know the issue and the solution to their own problems, but at an hourly rate.

Buzzfeed should be named Buzzard Feed. They're a bunch of whiny SJW plagiarists that dreams up or steals useless articles.

Funny because all it take for any woman to become a therapist is for Chad to break up with her. Then suddenly she's memorized the whole DSM-5 and can call out personality disorder's at the drop of a hat.

Man had to deal with an assload of cock n ball torture just for therapy smh

Knowing buzzfeed and knowing a little bit of history of ancient Rome, I don't understand.
Did I get it wrong, or are they referring to a netflix adaptation of ancient Romans?

I wouldn't mind going to therapy. These days you have to pay someone to listen to what you have to say; God knows a women will never listen.

reading marcus aurelius's meditations helped my mental health issues far more than any of the UKs NHS funded counselling i received when i was younger. and the commenter is correct, i didnt have to wait 4 months to read a book.
[β]Lfvbf0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I went to 5 therapists for months each and i can say they are mostly not worth the time or the money.
Not one actually helped with any real issue i had and the only one that did anything was the one i didn't pay for (my aunt's highschool friend).

When I was in high school they offered seven foreign languages. Now our local schools only offer spanish and it's forced on them in grammar school.
