If you want to know the true value of a diamond, try to pawn one.

WORSE than buying a new car for depreciation,

Can't remember of being told about ANY car bringing back a tennis ball.
[–]TheRiseAndFall4 points5 points6 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
We are working on it, dude. Chill! Right now it recognises the ball. Working on getting the chase part down. Fetching out by 2021!
[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Get with the times man! No longer is buying a new car over a used car a poor financial decision. Depending on the model many pre-owned vehicles aren't that much cheaper than buying a new car. You get much better financing options on new cars than you do used cars. If you do your homework you can often get a brand new car for nearly the same cost, in some cases less than a used car (cost per year, not total cost).
[–]jkarovskaya1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
That's true, except for guys who can buy a used Escort, CIvic, Corolla, Accord, or Malibu for $4000, and keep it running for years for cheap money.
If you know what you're doing, you can find cars private sale for $3-5K that will go another 100K doing all the maintenance yourself.
Down side to this is that you may get stung once in a while and need a big repair in 10 year old vehicles, but I've done well this way in the past

Last time I checked only retards and children are distracted by something big and shiny. Wait we're talking about women, they're different.

Even without the comments below this is what I intuitively thought.
Everybody who is interested in the true value of a diamond should read the following article: https://www.theatlantic.com/magazine/archive/1982/02/have-you-ever-tried-to-sell-a-diamond/304575/

This. Diamonds are one the biggest economic scam marketing has ever pulled. Those rocks are intrinsically worthless, and the market just exists thanks to massive brainwashing from, ding! ding! ding!, you guessed it, the marriage industry.
A short video explaining the subject : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N5kWu1ifBGU
[–]thewatisit17 points18 points19 points 6 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
Now now, they aren't totally worthless. They are the hardest things on earth. But yeah, they have no uses outside of drills.
[–]GuidoBandito8 points9 points10 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Which, oddly enough, are "cheap" compared to the single rock on her finger. And can be made in a lab and be almost exactly like the ones found in nature. All for a fraction of the cost.

That is why anybody who buys diamonds over moissanite is a sucker. Heck, even moissanite is a waste of money but at least it isn't as bad as diamonds.

Diamonds were worth something when the concept of a woman was something a little more noble than an alcoholic, thousand-cock guzzling money junkie.
As the value of women decreases, so does the value of diamonds. The modern value of a woman isn't worth diamonds to anyone beyond what a bluepill cuck is willing to pay.
[–]Paladin29034 points5 points6 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
This is very true. Essentially, the only reason a diamond holds any "value" is because most women are easily-brainwashed idiots, and are easily amused by shiny shit.
Guys need them to put it on the finger of their pet vagina. The vagina demands it. As more men go their own way, the value of the diamond diminishes.
[–]Urishima8 points9 points10 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
As Paul Elam put it: Diamonds are a girl's best friend, for men it's dogs, and I think we got the better deal.

Adam Ruins Everything did a cool piece on diamond rings!
The actual motivation behind diamond rings today is for women to show off to other women how much money their man spent on them. Petty bragging rights and jealousy.
[–]Natsume256 points7 points8 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Adam is as liberal as they come, but he dropped one he'll of a redpill at the end of the video.
Even knowing what they did, the woman wanted the ring. Adam just showed the primary motivation as to why men buy diamonds is exclusive sexual access to women, primarily because women are perpetuating it.

After watching their episode on weight loss, I would have to agree. Adam Ruins Everything probably only hits the nail on the head for about 1/3 of its content. The rest is just inane bullshit to pad their episode length.
However we certainly can take some excerpts from the good content.
[–]GoodKingWenceslaus1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
I guess that's true.
It's such a dumb leftist point of view: TIPPING IS BAD BECAUSE WORKERS GET PAID BADLY. I've never met somebody who doesn't tip better for better work. Tipping is honestly one of the best things. Because when somebody buys food at a restaurant, the objective is not to get service, the objective is to get food. Why remove any incentive for waiters to be good at their job?
[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
I've never met somebody who doesn't tip better for better work.
Ehhh, studies have actually shown that tips don't generally have anything to do with the actual quality of service. It is easy to counter that with your own anecdotal evidence, however if you actually ask anyone who works in the industry rather than the people tipping, then you will see that the studies are true.
I mean, just look at how much waitresses with nice tits but horrible service get tipped compared to male waiters that give amazing service. If you are a hot woman then you will get tipped well, regardless of how good of a job you do.
[–]GoodKingWenceslaus0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Ehhh, studies have actually shown that tips don't generally have anything to do with the actual quality of service.
How could you objectively measure good service?
It is easy to counter that with your own anecdotal evidence, however if you actually ask anyone who works in the industry rather than the people tipping, then you will see that the studies are true.
But often assholes think they're good people. (like myself often) People rarely go through life thinking "I'm a rude twat who shouldn't be a waiter." So people in the service industry aren't the ones to ask.
I mean, just look at how much waitresses with nice tits but horrible service get tipped compared to male waiters that give amazing service.
But all things being equal the better worker will get a better tip: two equally attractive women, one is a jerk, one is really kind, the kind one will obviously get a better tip.
If you are a hot woman then you will get tipped well, regardless of how good of a job you do.
So employers should look for hot women to be waitresses, right? Power of the free market.

People have given diamonds a value. When there are no human beings on this planet anymore, let's see who survives. One with a worthless diamond or one with a dog.
I prefer a loyal dog who is my companion and shows love over a million dollar.
[–][deleted] 2 points3 points4 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Not to mention all the horrific human violations tied to extraction of diamonds. I always laugh when some SJW warrior cunt is lecturing me with a big rock on her finger.
How many africans died so you could wear that thing? How many people could you have fed for the price you paid for that worthless stone?
WOMEN ARE TERRIBLE TERRIBLE TERRIBLE FUCKING CUNTY CUNTS.
I feel like this is actually just a great example of how materialist and shallow women are. The Women are Wonderful effect needs to up and die already, I don't understand why it's so damn pervasive.
[–]robowriter1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Diamond's not a girl's best friend. A trading account and a trained scatterbrain is. Not that you won't spend it as fast as you make it on crap but that's beside the point.

[–]GoodKingWenceslaus0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Dogs are such a mixed bag. I saw one yesterday that just kept barking at me every time it saw me for 2 hours.
Then another was just a really nice pet.
So to be fair with a diamond they are all the same.
Moissanite is where its at if you must waste money on a rock.

[–]phantommaster19990 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
A man's best friend is something which he houses, feeds and loves(and in turn it loves and protects him). A woman's best friend is something which was created by years of geological processes, then excavated by hard working men, cut and shaped by men, and even bought for by a man. And most importantly a man's best friend is a living thing with a mind of its own, not a piece of stone
[–]FermiAnyon0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Is this a joke? A rock vs a dog? How shallow can you be? A status symbol vs companionship... let along the uses a dog can have. What a repulsive sentiment!

I would rather invest in diamonds for a part of my retirement nestegg than a slobbering beast ruining my home and needing my valuable time! At least the shiny but valuable rocks won't shit on my floor!
[–][deleted] 12 points13 points14 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Well don't get married then... Oh oh sry, you meant dogs? Oh well shit dude diamonds are a horrible investment and dogs are neater housemates than most humans I've lived with so long as they are trained at least a little. But maybe they aren't for everyone. At least invest in something that tends to appreciate in value rather than depreciate though.
[–][deleted] 5 points6 points7 points 6 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
Do you actually think diamonds are a good investment? ROFL. Maybe if you are a jewelry company that might be true. Have you ever actually tried to sell a diamond? They are intrinsically worthless and their price is inflated due to a monopoly. Suckers are willing to pay for diamond rings at a huge markup to what they are actually worth. But good luck selling your diamonds at that markup price, it won't happen.
[–]deephurting6660 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
I have five heirloom ones, never paid for them but they are sealed and graded D 2-4 karats flawless in princess cut..idk anything about selling them at all tho, I just tossed them in my safe with my silver, gold and rhodium stash (bug out money)
Gold is a much better investment than diamonds but even that is not as good since we left the gold standard.
Think about it this way, companies pay next to nothing for diamonds when it comes to drills and such. The wedding market just applies a massive markup for diamonds on rings.
