If you think about it with logic and deductive reasoning, even if females were unicorns, marriage would be a bad move. Why bring a third party (the state) into a private and personal partnership? It's really no one else's fucking business who you pair with. Bringing in government into your marriage harkens back to feudal lordships where the bride had to bang the lord before you could be allowed to marry her.
