International Men's Day is 24 hours of celebration of men's sacrifice and commitment to their families, workplaces, and society as a whole. It is a day we celebrate brotherhood.

Many of us eschew cultural expectations for personal freedom as MGTOW. Regardless, I think all of us are able to acknowledge the hard work and dedication from our male role models and all men worldwide.

We live in time where this acknowledgement of men's achievements and discussing issues that disproportionately effect men are considered controversial topics by some.

Nonetheless, 2016's theme for International Men's Day is Stop Male Suicide.

In every country except China, the suicide rate is worse for men than women. On average three times as many men as women commit suicide worldwide. In Russia it is six men for every woman.

There's lots of places to look at why: cultural pressure, consumer culture, social isolation, and generally worse health compared to women.

I know it's hard to ask for help. Men are often expected to internalize their issues and "just get over it."

Instead, I want everyone to realize it's ok and perfectly normal to feel down or alone. You are not less of a person and there is not shame in asking for support or someone to talk. There are free resources out there to help.

I want to conclude by saying I'm thankful for the MGTOW community and all who have contributed, in any measure, to make it the movement it is today.

We're all in this together.
