The floor plans shown in Doc Savage: His Apocalyptic Life, of Doc Savage’s offices on the 86th floor of the ESB have three main rooms: his greeting room, a massive library, and an even larger scientific lab. There are some small rooms for a small studio apartment and an elevator or two, but that’s about it. The entire floor of the building is Doc’s base of operations.

Split garage up: 30% library, 20% office/server room, 30% workshop/woodshop and 20% garage.

Different priorities, is all.

Now the trick is to keep the workshop/woodshop from contaminating the servers with all their dust (which even the best shop vacuum systems will miss). Positive-pressure server room separate from office with dual-door airlock and high-airflow de-dusters to clean people coming into the server room? Should work if the server room has a separate air con system.

Seen a lot of People build garages and park Campers in them. Works great for weekend cabins and if travel is part of the lifestyle. Easy on taxes, and simple and low cost to build. Depending on if they have a well or septic the RV can be serviced by taking it to a service station if water and sewer are not available.

no need for a garage, i'm not into cars of rebuilding, but you know what, i own my own place so i have many of other rooms, and they are all mine. a pimped out computer room/bro chill hangout room, a huge living room with video game setup, two bedrooms so i can have guests over if need be. my own kitchen with exactly the food only i'd eat.

I've lived with two women too, so i understand compromise and am not against it, but compromise only works when both sides contributes and concede. women do neither.

My dream is a house with a dark basement - maybe a few tiny little horizontal windows (better yet, class bricks) near the top of the wall, but easily covered with something when I want it pitch black.

The basement will have wall-to-wall carpeting so it feels good to walk around barefoot, and in the corner a desk with a powerful desktop computer and a 40-inch monitor; the chair will be either a recliner or one of those chunky chairs with a built-in stool-like thingie; near one of the outside walls will be a giant-ass 85-inch (or bigger) 8k TV mounted securely to the wall, with a long stand underneath it containing a powerful surround receiver, a Blu-Ray player, an old-school VHS machine and a Laserdisc player (because why the hell not?).

In the middle of the room is a big old couch, with sort of a velvet-type-or-whatever-the-hell-you-call-it covering, along with a giant foot-stool that I can move around if I want; in front of the couch is a solid coffee table for setting the remotes on (along with food and beer).

In the back of the room will be shelves for books/DVD's/etc, a sink, tiny stove/oven, microwave, sink, & fridge; in another corner will be a comfortable twin-size bed for when I don't feel like seeing sunlight after surfing Reddit or watching movies all night long.

The room has a big old powerful floor fan, and stays easily cool in the summer.

The ceiling lights will not be connected, in order to prevent someone from turning them on while I'm trying to Netflix and chill.

It might also not be out of the question to add a couple of arcade video game machines (Tempest, Galaxian) just for the hell of it.

Many steaks and hot wings would be consumed in such a room.

I'd rather my garage and workshop be in a pole barn style building. Short walkway between the small and simple house then to my little fortress of solitude.
