I’ve been thinking about this a lot; there are numerous remakes in recent years of classic movies, such as Ghostbusters, where all that has effectively been done, is that they have replaced the Male leads with female leads. What is the point of this? I assume, the presumed point, is to prove that women “can do it to”, whatever the hell that means.... but isn’t it ironic that they are remaking films written by MEN, with characters created by MEN?! Wouldn’t it “prove” their point more effectively if they created their own films and characters; aren’t they in a way just proving that they need MEN to create the entertainment in the first place and then all they really do is hi-jack something that a MAN has created? Same with Men’s sports.
