More often than not, the men who yield to that enticement end up in Hell, whether you want to think of hell as a real and eternal place of torment, or extreme temporal suffering due to their emotions, finances and personal dreams being intentionally destroyed by creatures who don't give a shit about them, regardless of what they (women) say or how they act. Regardless of when or where you decide to date, do so with your eyes wide open. And don't just look at her. Watch your internal responses. The moment she wants you to do something that you are not inclined to do and you find yourself seriously considering doing it, you'd better run away as fast as you can and don't worry about hurting her feelings. Double edged sword. Sandman often preaches that you should date when you're young - you and the women you're with will never be as hot, and women are not yet completely crazy at that age. His logic is that you generally regret the things you don't do more than the things you do.

I agree with that in principle, but the reality is that your brain is conditioned to fall hard at that age. There is no love like first love or young love, and the chemical cocktail your balls drum up for your brain completely screws up your decision-making abilities. Before you know it, you're throwing your life away for some woman who you think is the one. Next thing you know, she's either fucking Chad in college or, best case scenario, divorcing you and taking the kids as well as half your stuff 7-10 years from now.

If you think you can maintain boundaries, keep it informal and fun, no long-term or serious/exclusive relationships, then sure, go for it.

The only thing that saved me at that age was that I was a complete fucking idiot and utterly repulsive to women once they saw what a huge goober I was. Had I been even remotely attractive or exciting, I would have been scooped up, consumed, digested, and spit out for nothing other than my job prospects.

Dating is extremely one sided. Her only obligation is to be there. You have to do everything else.

And don't get upset if she's a no show, chicks pull that shit all the time. I suggest planning the date to an event that you'd like to go to even if she wasn't there, that way if she flakes it's no loss.
