In the short time of four years, I’ve gone from making it a point to see every nominated movie, from not even knowing what night the oscars were on. I don’t think my sensibilities or beliefs have changed that much from the far ago ancient time of 2014, that I’ve gone from considering myself a film buff to not giving two shits about the “biggest night of the year for film”

I caught about 10 minutes of it when I was visiting a friend's house. His wife was watching it.

The one male reporter I saw was about 9 feet tall. He looked like a basketball player and I'm sure that was on purpose. Every other red carpet reporter was a woman. Jimmy Kimmel only talked about how things could benefit women.

Why he decided to take a shot at Mel Gibson, I'm not sure.

You know, those folks who fly on private jets, are driven in nice cars by chauffeurs, dress in clothes that cost more than my home, have bodyguards to keep the riff-raff away, and have multiple expansive mansions throughout the world. The ones that claim they're oppressed and that I'm to blame, that I need to check my privilege. And they gather en-masse to tell me this and lecture me on the finer points of life whilst they hand eachother statues.

"Gun control? Of course we need gun control. I've never been in the same room as a gun, all I know is props, but yeah, we need gun control because our diseased culture keeps getting kids killed."

"Climate change? Yeah, you plebeians need to ride your bikes more and stop working on the oil patch. I'd rather see trees as my Learjet takes off than oil rigs."

I grew up in a two bedroom trailer with 6 people living in it. We turned our gas oven on and left the door open to heat the house when the furnace was broken, until it could be repaired. We took baths out of the sink, no hot water. I'd walk home from school and the electricity would be turned off once a month, at random. I started doing manual labor when I was 11 years old. So yeah, I'll check my privilege whenever I find it. Let me know if you guys see it.

i always watch. didn't this year. wouldn't contribute to the ratings. figured i'd watch highlights later. glad i skipped it. total cringe fest.

again, these are actual highlights;

1.) Jimmy Kimmel saying Oscar is great because he has no dick. more men should be like him and dickless oscar.

2.) Frances Mcdormund cringe worth speech making women stand up. notice how the white washing/black and whites issue of the oscars has been totally overshadowed by women. if anything i think minorities like blacks need more help in that industry than women. yet no, we're the #1 victims, of course.

3.) Emma Watson tacky fake arm "times up" tattoo. also, anyone notice the 27 year old Emma Watson is slamming into the wall. bitch will be a 4/10 within 2 years. she's collapsing.

4.) awkward race jokes. awkward women jokes. Emma stone saying best director was 4 guys and GRETA GERWIG, as if those other 4 artists don't deserve to have their named read aloud because they are men? wtf.

it's just a cycle. tv and movie pandering to women because they consume more. well men are leaving, you think these women will have all that money once all the good orbiters dry up? eventually the only level of spending will be from money they earn themselves, when women are given a budget based ONLY on what they earn and not with extra beta bux money, they will start consuming alot less as they have to save for retirement as no fucking man will come within a mile of their old used up pussies. eventually things will change. right now though, ugh. even as a man's right activist, i could never seen this being in the opposite way about men and me cheering it on. its all so tacky. even if it was fucking Leo talking about Mgtow during his speech i'd still say it was cringey and not the right place to discuss such matters. that is an ART awards show and the merits of the art, not who made it and their gender is whats important.
