Implying this bitch would request a longer prison sentence to be equal with men if she was ever convicted.
[–]LiveTheTruth3215 points6 points7 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Like that will ever happen
[–]khaoboy7437 points38 points39 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
She is right. 100% right.
Lengthen the prison sentences of women and smash sexism!

This reminds me of my feminist mom.
[–]MuleFool4213 points14 points15 points 5 years ago (8 children) | Copy Link
I get what she's saying, but does that justify sentences being different?
Hint: NO.
This just reads like a justification to push inequalities that favor women and penalize men. It's why there is so much hypocrisy in the feminist movement.
Until they start fighting for equal sentencing, equal custody, eligibility for the draft, gender neutral domestic violence and rape law enforcement and definition, they're not an equality movement. They never were, actually.
[–]iam6661 point2 points3 points 5 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link
But... That's one of the main points of modern feminism. Its changing the social outlook on women. Women are still seen as inferior to men in terms of them being seen as weak and in need of protection. If women and men are seen as equal (social equality) then those discrepancies you mention would also go away.
She's not saying that it's ok for sentences to be different, she's saying that men are getting a correct sentencing, while women are getting off easy due to social inequalities affecting women.
To dismiss the entire feminist movement as "they want all the benefits but none of the negatives" would be like looking at first wave feminism (the right to vote, own property, etc.) and saying "these women want to vote and own land but they don't want to have to get a job and contribute to society"
[–]MuleFool421 point2 points3 points 5 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
Understand what you're saying but still, action talks and bullshit walks. Until the feminist movement starts acting like they're wearing their big girl panties and starts fighting for equality in how our society deals with men being hyper-penalized during the same processes, then I don't buy it.
It's all lip service and comments like hers don't help, because, as a practical matter she's saying that the problem doesn't need to be fixed until women and/or society "sees/feels" that women are equal. That's a hearts and minds campaign that will never end, so she's basically saying that it's ok for men to suffer inequality indefinitely.
No thanks.

I mean, maybe the reason that feminism is making such slow progress towards addressing these social issues is because whenever the topic of feminism or social equality is brought up, a large portion of people dismiss it by saying "women already have rights" or "actually, men are oppressed."
Or maybe that's just me.
[–]MuleFool421 point2 points3 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Enough people, IMO, understand that feminism is "by women, for women", and that's exactly how they act. It's not really an equality movement, it's a women's movement. That's ok, just don't call yourself something you're not. They don't care about men and they've shown that, and have actually worked against policies that would help men or make things equal.
That's why most people don't identify as feminists. When you look under the covers, it's all about women and what they need and they could care less about men. In fact, if we chose to help men, we'd have to spend money on those issues, and that's money that could be spent on women's issues. Working for true equality is really not in the feminist movement's interest, unless, of course, there's a bigger benefit of some kind coming back to women.
The trappings of an 'ism' and signing up for whatever activism and doctrine is appropriate in order to be a member, is exactly why MGTOW is NOT a movement. It's not heavily funded organizations and people marching in streets. That becomes political, agenda driven, virtue signaling, and a chase for money and programs.
MGTOW is individual men making personal choices about not going along with societal expectations. In that way, it's better than a movement. It's simply a believe system based on facts, data, and real experiences that men share. It's an understanding that for men, no help is ever coming, because society cannot afford to see men as victims because then it would have to do something about male issues. Never going to happen. So men accept the fact that for them, it's really a rigged game, and the only way to win is to not play, invest in one's self, grow each day, be independent, and ultimately successful both personally and professionally. To be satisfied with yourself and to attain happiness as an individual, mostly by avoiding life decisions relating to women. Never marry, never live with women, not because we don't love women, we do, but because of the penalties that society levels against men in particular, for making those wrong choices. It is simply no longer worth it for men to do so.

But this is all entirely theoretical, isn't it. How do we know the bias isn't just because people think women are better? Is there any evidence in either direction?
That's a valid point, but it comes down to how you look at it. The same attributes that cause women to be seen more favorable to men are often seen as patronizing as well. Things like women being "motherly" or having a more gentle temperament are often seen as a good thing, but are also often used to disbarrage women when the opportunity arises. "Women cant lead because they are too emotional", for example.
Also, a lot of the issues regarding men actually being seen in a negative light often boil down to toxic masculinity, which is a big issue that I think more "Men's rights activists" need to address, rather than labeling it simply a villifying feminist idea. Things like higher suicide rates among men are in part caused by the idea that men have to always conceal their emotions and keep it inside, which is part of toxic masculinity: the social ideals set for men that are unhealthy to follow.
But then you have an intersection of both of these, such as child custody. Custody is usually given to the woman because women are seen as motherly and caregivers, while men are often emotionally distant and don't play a large part in the child's development, or at least that's what society has caused us to think over time as a result of toxic masculinity.

Again, I'm genuinely curious, is there any evidence for that?
[–]DrPeterGriffenEsq0 points1 point2 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
This was my reaction to it as well. A prime example is a male teacher sexually abusing a student and a female teacher doing the same thing. The man is a predator and a rapist (and that’s true) but so is the woman. But no, it’s just seduction on her part and a boy getting lucky. And this results in drastically different sentencing.

Ok, then I'm a "feminist" who believes in longer, fair prison sentences for women! No more discrimination! We should have the same number of women in jail as men! Why are men getting all the jail time and women are being cheated! We should "metoo" men who are in jail and get them kicked out of jail and replaced by strong powerful women who deserve the opportunity to be in jail! Fuck the patriarchy!!!!!

she is tecnically right.
[–]trapperzz1 point2 points3 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I would say it’s cos you can’t get as much free labour outta them. We need them outside creating more children of the lie
[–]Mo_Walker0 points1 point2 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Alright , give women equal prison sentences!!
[–]BludgeonVIII0 points1 point2 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Wait, so does that mean she'd be in favor of equalizing the prison sentences between men and women?
[–]padpump0 points1 point2 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Yeah it’s a brain teaser. Is it really sexist though? Or are women just better at looking innocent 😇
[–]Gobc0 points1 point2 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Strike and a miss. If women are perceived to be weaker and more innocent, how and why would they get lighter sentences after a conviction? Evidence is evidence. The reason they get lighter sentences is because of gynoctrism. Women get these lighter sentences because women and men both have an in group preference with other women.
[–]PorkBomber0 points1 point2 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
The victimhood mentality and solipsism among women makes me puke. Women love to make everything about themselves. Men dying in wars? sexism against women. Men getting longer sentences? sexism against women. They have to make universe revolve around themselves. SMH.

I guess some people just can't let the "trolling sjw feminists epic style" fad go, I'm praying for u 😔😔😔

It's never a woman's fault in their simple, childlike minds
[–]Global_MGTOW0 points1 point2 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Don't bother arguing with women, they're mentally retarded. Even some of the most brilliant women in history go full retard when it comes to feelings and "muh tingles".
[–]KingGummyBear860 points1 point2 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I like how she implies that shorter prison sentences are a "negative" impact on women.
I wish I could get that kind of opression
[–]Atton_Risk0 points1 point2 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Women are weaker and gynocentrism exists to deal with this. It isn't the product of culture but rather biology.
[–]AndyJN160 points1 point2 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
She’s not wrong, but she’s not all right
[–]MrMannheim0 points1 point2 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Oh god, it hurt trying to comprehend that.
So apparently men getting punished more for the exact same crime is, in fact, sexism against women.
