That's a biggest pile of bs I've heard, but then what do you expect from leftist 'news' outlet? It is a common knowledge that women are instigators of divorce in majority of cases, I mean it doesn't even come close.

So bullshit titles like

I think it does happen pretty regularly that middle-aged men rise in wealth and status and then dump their long-term wives for someone younger. What percentage of divorces are the result of this phenomenon is a question that's not so easy to answer.

But from the point of view of MGTOW, it's not such a big deal. The law is set up such that if a man decides to go that route, he will pay for it and his wife will be covered financially. In fact, most men who are in this position feel a sense of obligation to their first wife.

The real problem is that in situations where it's the wife who has more options, the law DOESN'T protect the husband and women DON'T feel any sense of obligation.

I am suspicious of the article. I don't doubt that men in that age group might indeed be getting more divorces. But it might just be to ditch the bitch rather than take up with a younger gold digger. And the other reason to be suspicious is the focus was on how the divorces will affect the ditched wives.

So its assumed its the older men ditching their younger wives, and not the younger wives cashing in on their older husbands for property and prizes. The stats just state the age of the divorcees - doesn't appear to say who initiated the divorce. Must be the nasty, lecherous old men, of course...
