Pros, you never have unwanted children. any children that show up are proof of infidelity. You have total control over your reproduction, completely removing this power from others. You can decide to still have children, but they require time and expense so you must "really " want them.

Cons, the same with any elective surgery. You could have complications or die for some bizarre reason, but the chance of this happening from a vasectomy is close to zero. It's a simple operation so something outrageous would have to happen for it to go wrong. There is a failure rate possibility, which means you may need to have it redone, so you can't just walk away. You need to make sure and confirm it was successful, which is standard procedure anyway. Also it costs a few hundred bucks, and there's that. Of course, that's a tiny percent of the money you'd pay in child support, but that's more a pro than anything. If you tell women you've had one, some may not date you because they either don't know what it is, or realize you've taken your power away, so you have to never tell anyone.

I had mine at age 27 (19.9 years ago). Paid $500.00 cash without insurance. By far the best money I ever spent. I have never regretted it. Pros: You don't have to ever worry about being sperm-jacked and the many responsibilities that being so cause. Can you say freedom! Cons: 3 seconds of pain on the operating table. Is it worth it - to me it was. Do I have any regrets for having it done - no. Would I do it all over - Yes. What do you have to lose? My experience: Had it done after my 3rd kid so I have my genetic legacy. It's an important factor for some, not all. It's a low drama procedure and my insurance covered the brunt of it. Shortly after having it done the wife started banging her "totally platonic life long guy friend". Ya know, that hilarious joke. lol. So, at first I resented letting her talk me into it but realized while going post-divorce beast-mode, making up for lost time, I felt it was the best divorce present I could have got myself. Peace of mind that I wouldn't be getting sperm jacked or going through another child support court case. So if you are out to conquer territory, it is a well suited procedure. Which is all well and fine if you haven't gone into that later mgtow mindset of "why bother?". But the gun safety is always on in case I want to head out to the range. But if you get to a point where you just don't see the point in the dog and pony show, it's kind of a waste of a procedure.

Further more, what I've noticed is in the dating world, when I competed that is, the first sign from you that you had it done will have females subconsciously disqualify you. Even if they have 3-5 kids already and have zero plans to have more. It's instinctual to pass over a mate that they can't breed with (or hold the children for ransom). If they know or suspect, it's a deal breaker for most of them. I've seen this with FWBs as well even though LOGICALLY it would be ideal for that arrangement. Yes, I know... logically. So if you plan on "making new acquaintances" don't bother mentioning it until you want to turn the shit test back on them. That in itself almost has enough of an entertainment appeal to have me date for the lolz.

Other things to consider, the boys hang lower. Fact. Also, I had a solid week of feeling like I was kicked in the sack by a 10 year old, daily. After that, there is a chance you could develop a sort of chronic pain that if it gets too unbearable, you'll need to get the procedure reversed. In addition, If you lift, be careful about doing sets of exercises that strain that region. It can cause a couple week long+ hernia type pain. Not fun.

TLDR; if you are plannin-to-be-bangin, it's handy AF. But it has it's drawbacks that may not be worth it if you go monk mode.
