I was reading something about how the majority of negative reviews, from any review site, tend to be from women. Most of the negative reviews tend to be extremely exaggerated to the point of bordering on obvious fiction. Don't trust a woman's opinion on anything, find out for yourself.

Sounds about right. Like when you're going through hotel reviews and whatnot, you tend to see a lot of one star reviews criticizing everything when the root cause is that the guy at the front desk didn't carry her bags to her room.

entitlement. maybe they didn't get free stuff they expected. maybe they asked them to stop soliciting the guests. maybe the bartender charged them for all their drinks. the horror.

You should be able to remove such a review or sue such a person if the negative review is unjustified. Fuck sites like Yelp. Think of how many small businesses have been ruined because of women who got butthurt.

Unless the thing you read was written by a woman...../theplotthickens

Sounds like you read a bad review of a review site. No doubt featuring an exaggerated and chastening view on such a patriarchal structure. I for one support these poor women who have to use patriarchal abominations just to complain about more patriarchal abominations.

I am fully aware that is nothing more than anecdotal, but I worked in bars and restaurants for almost 15 years and it is ALWAYS women that complain about everything. I would say 9 out of 10 complaints you get are from women.

Most reviews are negative because people feel the need to speak out about negative experiences. Satisfaction is presumed.
Granted, this leads to a lot of passive vitriol which is a female's domain, but overall, the reasons aren't mysterious.

I believe it from my own experience of reading reviews.
I stayed at a hotel a few weeks ago and of course I read all of the reviews for it.
The majority of the negative ones were from women and they did in fact seem exaggerated.
I noticed that on a system of 1-5 stars, a women's negative review was almost always a 1. While negative reviews by males were 1, 2, or 3.

On IMDB you can see that women vote using the extremes of the range more often than men. Tens and ones, tens and ones.

Is it just me or has anyone else noticed women also tend to send food back more than men. I have a friend who sent back beer because there weren't enough bubbles in it (I had the exact same beer from the same tap at the same time and both beers visibly were the same - they weren't flat). Another woman sent a bowl of soup back because "the texture didn't feel as good compared to a different restaurant's soup" while admitting it tasted fine. It's almost as if they are publicly announcing " I want everyone to think I am very important and to validate that I will expect perfection in everything people do for me".

Because women dont satisfy as men. Thats why 80% of divorces initiated by women.

Just watch Hell's kitchen most of the ones who have problem with food are women, but Gordon doesn't take any shit from them of course.

Seriously, I know a lot of people who work in the hospitality industry. It's such a fast paced job, and often very hard. Sometimes things aren't perfect. The waitress serving you is probably covering 3 sections while her boss steals her tips.
The people who send everything back because it's not 110% are ridiculous.

Eh, IDK man.. I've seen a lot of guys act like jerks at restaurants too over small problems. I don't think that's a very sex-determined phenomenon.

who the fuck writes reviews, I don't understand. I'm so fucking lazy about stupid shit I don't even have the patience to change my screensaver pic on the lop top - It seems to me some impossible procedure. Not speaking of finding some site and figuring out the bullshit interface where I can post my shit

I write reviews cause, when it comes to customer service, it needs to be monitored and kept on track.
The American business model is based on excellent customer service.

I don't write reviews, but when I'm shopping around and looking at options, I do tend to have a flick through the reviews of the alternatives I'm looking at. Not sure how much you can trust them, but you do come across a few good points.
[–][deleted] 5 points6 points7 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Like, reviews for hotels, or a stay at an Airbnb etc.
Anything that can help another person choose wisely is defnitely a good reason to leave a review.
I read them, so I write them myself.

I don't write reviews but if I did they would be the most interesting reviews in the world...

You need to check for fake reviews now. There are browser extensions. I bought a mini speaker that had 150 five star reviews from verified purchases. Speaker was worse than my phone's. Loaded the browser extension and it said all of them were fake.
[–]Tyler7892282 points3 points4 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
There are browser extensions
Which one do you use ?
[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 5 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
That's easy to detect. If it has a ton of reviews, and 95 percent good reviews and 5 percent 3 stars or below, then that's pretty good sign of review shilling. Read the bad reviews first always, they are usually more honest.

I write positive reviews in the hopes that they'll bring more business to my favorite spots and help to keep them afloat. I don't want to have to find new ones if they go out of business, you know?
[–][deleted] -2 points-1 points0 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
why you have favorites spots? even my gf's vagina never was my favorite spot. I think you should care only if you bought this company's stocks.
[–]feedmecarrots23 points24 points25 points 5 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
I think that "one woman's" review just backfired. The merchant turned it into an endorsement.
[–][deleted] 21 points22 points23 points 5 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
I know. I love it. And I bet the owner of the joint is a man, because only men think outside of the box llike that!

Women are liars.
That's a hilariously smart post. I'd buy there.

I am happy to report that my son, without coaxing, said to me about his mother (my ex-) "you know how Mom always exaggerates!" There is much hope for you my son. Now you understand the precise nature of women, grasshopper!!

I'd love to start a restaurant that serves food and ONLY black coffee and see how much soycunts and wymynz bitch and moan
