It's usually the case that each accusation is flimsier than the last, and relies on momentum to keep people thinking they're legit. When Ford, the first one, had an accusation that was basically dead on arrival as your trail-blazer, the thursday hearing (if she shows up at all) will be a massacre of her reputation and probably career.

Also given that another one's dating site profile is riddled with anonymous former lovers who call her a disease-ridden whore going back YEARS, these are just women looking for a payout, and the DNC will no doubt pay as many women they can tie to Kavanaugh as they have coffers for. I mean, it's not like they're using their money for some foolish thing like crafting good legislation.

If this was an Obama pick, he'd already have been made to drop out of the running; as it stands Trump isn't backing down, and neither is Kavanaugh. The only weak link are a couple Republicans in a position to cast their votes; one or two might break under duress from progressive slander, and one for certain is facing a reverse-bribe against her if she doesn't vote the way the terrorists (I mean, activists) want. My guess is the reason Trump hasn't nuclear-optioned the situation is he's not 100% sure which way they'd go, and he's using this time to 1) reinforce his bloc to make sure he can go nuclear if he chooses and 2) waiting for Kavanaugh to rope-a-dope Ford and possibly others, so that they make fools of themselves when details emerge showing their shady pasts and implausible stories.
