The thing about mgtow is that it will be different for every man. For me the idea is that you decide for yourself what's important in life and be true to yourself first. Most men simply parrot what they see (monkey see, monkey do) others do. Big house, shiny car, fancy clothes... you get the idea. Some are consumed by the idea that they present themselves in some certain way to others, thereby essentially making themselves into what they think others perceive as successful. Here's the thing though, if you're worried about what others think of you, you are giving them power over you.

Breaking the bonds of social norms is but the first step. True freedom comes from deciding for yourself what is worthy of your energy and time and that's what I think mgtow is.

My cursory overview of this subreddit seems to show there is a lot of resentment against women, but not so much finding joy in your own lives.

Resentment exists because the stuff we had to go through and lost every thing. I was here; except the part of standing on the street corner request for help. I had few male friends who helped me (and whose wives have been openly resentful of having helped me).

We speak from that experience. May be you should seek joy in that reproductive happiness first. And I wish you success. Should you fail, you know where to come to.

If you see my comment history, I am more and more less on this sub. When we find joy, we no longer need this sub. We will be spending most of the time on other subs, mostly with different alts that we also use professionally.

Consider this sub as a hospital/rehab where you heal and go back to live your normal life again.

When I first joined the sub, I was sick because of which I couldn't work, penniless and had no money for treatment or even food. That's a very scary place to be in. And all this is because of an evil wife. What do you expect? I will be farting roses and lilies?

Solution? Don't get married.

I'm doing well for myself and got my life back on track a few years ago. It's gonna stay that way.

I've talked about this on my recent podcast, which isn't available on youtube, so many of you may not see it. In my podcast recently I've talked about how many a man who claims to be MGTOW is in fact "not," and that we as men need to agree upon an actual definition. Instead of being like leftists, and playing willy nilly with the meanings of words, let's agree upon a definition, and then stick with it.

Doesn't marry a woman Doesn't live with a woman Doesn't have kids with a woman Is not an incel, or TFL guy, as you have to have something before you can walk away from it.

That's it. The last one might raise some eyebrows among some, but Incel and TFL guys are not MGTOW. They are angry, bitter, lonely guys who still want, and crave the attention of women. In the case of TFL guys they are particularly angry. Seeing women as a group that has deprived them of the happiness they are "entitled" to as men. A very millennial, and at the same time leftist way of looking at things.

It is time we stop playing loosy goosy with the meaning og "Men going their own way. The phrasal verb has a meaning, and it is a simple one. The only ones who want to play loosy goosy with it tend to be those who don't fit the very simple meaning of the phrase, and want to bend it to make it apply to them. Like TFL, and incel guys.

How can we as men communicate effectively if we continue to acknowledge TFL, and incel guys as MGTOW when doing so makes us look very bad. TFL and incel dudes are the worst possible spokesmen for MGTOW. Bitter, angry, entitled, and often full of hate for women they spout off in often crazy sounding ways.

These guys oftentimes have personality issues, and are generally socially awkward people. They are the ones the media goes to every time they talk about MGTOW. These are the guys propped up as an example of MGTOW, when they are not even MGTOW.

So, let's start agreeing on a defintion, and stop with the negative philosophy view that everything is open to interpretations, and that each guy who is going his own way is going his own way in his own way. Right, so long as he is actually MGTOW. If he is just an incel, or TFL dude claiming to be MGTOW because he simply can't get a broad, and believes that MGTOW is a good place to hide out then he isn't a man going his own way.

Time to stop identifying "any" man who isn't with a woman as MGTOW. By the current loosely accepted definitions more or less any guy not currently in a relationship qualifies as MGTOW, regardless of his views, or mindset. If you say no that is not, or should not be the case then you have to take such things into account, and not simply take into account the physical "lack" of a wife, or baby momma, or roommate.

Keep this in mind. MGTOW is clearly not just about the physical lack of a woman in the above mentioned criteria. There is a mental aspect, as well as an actual "choice" that is involved. Not to mention that, if you have never had, or been with a woman than you can hardly walk away from it. You can't walk away from something that has never been there for you, and those who try to do so will in most cases always be wondering about what they never had. Hence, making it far less likely that you could walk away from something that you'd never had in the first place.

Just wanted to make you all think, and ask some of these important questions of yourselves. Words matter, and definitions for words matter. I think the very simply definition, which is the way I have always viewed MGTOW, is the best one.
