This is something that has always confused me. Feminists claim that police will treat a victim harshly. Will not believe them, question every word, yell at them, discourage them from pressing charges, ask questions to fill out a report, etc.
As we have seen countless times in the news and through studies, police believe the victim, press charges early on the accused, and will go as far as hiding evidence that proves the accused innocent.
Police take rape very seriously. I was thinking this myth might just be because male hatred trumps their female logic. They assume that all white men are evil, most police are white male, therefore all police are evil. They don't have anything other than that to back up their claims, and if you question their claim you are called a rape apologist.
