This does not ring true: any labor relations 101 textbook will tell you that administrative staff at his mine would be audited against the same jobs at the next mine down the street, and the one in the next county, etc. Then they might compare them to the same jobs in other similar industries. Nobody compares secretaries and engineers

I wish this was real but its not sadly. This is called "constructive dismissal". I was on board on the story until they offered the women the mine jobs. Its believable enough to outsource all the admin and terminate those jobs. Offering them jobs in the mine is the part where it loses its credibility.
Maybe what actually happened was they encouraged the women to apply into labor jobs; or maybe guaranteed to hire them into labor jobs or something -- but you can't just take a customer service person and say "you're a laborer now"

Stuff like this isn’t common but, it does happen from time to time. Whether this particular story happened I can’t say and somehow doubt it but, it’s not out of the realm of possibilities. I’ve seen a few work places offer to move people to other positions they weren’t qualified for as well paid apprentices if the higher ups outsourced their jobs. Most people just up and left though, guess they didn’t like hard labor.

Don't even care if it's real or not, it brought a smile to my face.

Yup....I'm a fireman and the girls in the office at one time wanted wage parity with us...it was pointed out that they sit at a desk.... and we RUN INTO FIRES..... Then the chief posted a memo stating what every single position is paid. And that the service is aggressively seeking female enrollees. Things got real quiet.

This also reminds me of the times that Google and the BBC had their women riled up by feminists saying that both companies were paying their women less, despite the fact that both companies are about as cucked as all get out.
When due diligence revealed, during the course of their attempt to gain 'fair' (read: HIGHER) wages, that the women were in fact getting paid MORE then their male colleagues... all of a sudden the protests stopped overnight, instead of shifting to address why the men were getting paid less.

Whores got served a healthy serving of equality.
Wish this was a true story. 🙂

Equal pay for equal labor. Yep, that's how you defeat the gender pay gap myth.

Wow. Women had pud jobs and ruined a good thing by getting greedy. Sounds like something a woman would do.
